She forced her eyes open and tilted her head up.
She was immediately met with Remington's dark, amused gaze. He had clearly just woken up as well, his expression still carrying a trace of lazy sleepiness as his gravelly voice filled the quiet room.
“Morning.”
The memories of last night flooded back in an instant. The man had acted like a starving wolf finally tasting meat for the first time.
He had promised to let her sleep by midnight, only to drag it out for another three grueling hours.
It genuinely felt like she had just closed her eyes a second ago, and now the sun was already up.
Today, Nelson was planning to take the family to visit Elsa's grave, and Lizetta was obviously required to attend.
She blinked her swollen, sleep-deprived eyes, groaning lazily.
“So tired…”
Only when she spoke did she realize her voice was completely raspy.
Remington pressed a tender kiss to her forehead.
“Give me a second.”
He, on the other hand, looked incredibly energized. He pulled away from her and sat up.
She instinctively glanced upward, catching him right as he stood.
The golden morning light spilled over his incredibly sculpted physique, presenting a visual impact that was simply far too much for her groggy mind to handle.
Her cheeks flushed hot. The moment he turned around, he caught her violently darting her eyes away.
Looking so vivid and animated, she perfectly mirrored the innocent girl who used to sneak peeks at him.
He smirked, grabbed a bathrobe, and tied it on.
A moment later, he was back at the edge of the bed. “Sit up and drink some water.”
Lizetta remained face-down, her face buried deeply into the pillow, half-asleep.
Hearing his voice, she simply nuzzled the back of her head deeper into the mattress, stubbornly refusing to move.
A fond smile played on his lips. Without rushing her, he began a silent countdown in his head.
Right on cue, just like when she was little, he reached ten, and she slowly, groggily lifted her head.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
