She nodded. "You could say we know each other."
They had met once, and Kimberley had helped her out. Lizetta considered herself a bit of a fan.
"Is Candy's father's last name also Evert?"
Before the director could answer, Lizetta quickly added, "I know doctors aren't supposed to disclose patient information casually. I just need to confirm something. I promise I'm not prying into celebrity gossip, and I won't go around spreading it."
The director smiled warmly.
"Oh, not at all, I'm not worried about that. It seems Candy is from a single-parent household. The father's section on her admission form is completely blank."
Lizetta's heart raced. "Do you happen to have any pictures of Candy? Could I take a look?"
The director shook her head. "I don't personally have any. But Ms. Kimberley is very approachable. A few nurses asked for photos with her, and she gladly agreed. They might have caught Candy in the background. Hold on a moment, Ms. Madden, I'll go check."
She stepped out of the office. While waiting, Lizetta pulled out her phone and opened her chat with Jerome, sending a sticker of a cat poking its head out.
Jerome replied almost instantly.
[Is Joy asleep? He gets discharged tomorrow, right?]
He knew Lizetta wouldn't have time to chat unless the baby was down for a nap.
Lizetta smiled at his text and sent a voice note.
"Joy just fell asleep. We'll be discharged first thing tomorrow morning. Jerome, stop worrying about us. Has Grandpa been giving you a break from all those blind dates? Listen, I just met this incredible girl here. She's stunning, kind-hearted, multi-talented, and has this gentle but resilient personality. I think she'd be the perfect aunt for Joy. When can you come over? I'll set you two up!"
She released the button to send the voice note just as the director walked back in.
Lizetta quickly stood up.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
