His plump little lips pouted slightly like a baby bird's beak, and the sound he made was just as sweet.
Lizetta was thrilled and gently corrected him.
"Not like that, sweetie. It's Unky!"
"Unky, Unky, Unky," little Joy repeated enthusiastically.
On the other end of the line, Jerome was deeply surprised and delighted. "Joy can say Unky now! He's so adorable. Tell him to wait for me—I'll bring him a massive present when I get to Zion City."
After hanging up, Lizetta took Joy from Remington's arms and pressed a tender kiss to her son's soft cheek. Then, she turned to Remington.
"Do you think Jerome has feelings for Kimberley?"
They always said men understood men best, so she wanted to hear Remington's assessment.
Remington's lips curved into a faint smile. "He will definitely show up in Zion City within the next two days. Whether he arrives today or tomorrow will depend entirely on just how desperate he is."
Lizetta couldn't help but chuckle. "You men are so exhausting. You clearly have feelings, yet you force yourselves to act so aloof."
Remington pressed his lips together. He wanted to argue that he wasn't like that and she shouldn't generalize.
But then he remembered the two years they were married, during which he had kept his mouth firmly shut about his own feelings. Instantly, a heavy wave of guilt washed over him.
He nodded in agreement. "It is exhausting. Don't worry, I've learned my lesson and I'll never act like that again."
Lizetta was quite satisfied with his response. She lightly nudged the little toddler in her arms with her chin.
"You better summarize all those hard-earned lessons properly. In the future, you have to pass that wisdom down to your son."
She absolutely refused to let her future daughter-in-law suffer the same heartaches.
The next morning.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
