Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1379

Given how much Nelson and Jerome adored Lizetta, they would surely fix everything for him.

He had spent every single day trying to reach her, but his calls never went through.

She had blocked him on WhatsApp and every other social media platform.

The only reason he was sitting here now was to pry her location out of Jerome.

Her movements had been kept strictly confidential.

Conrad guessed she was in Zion City, considering Remington wasn't in Tranquil Meadows either, but when he activated his network in Zion City to locate her, he hit a wall.

He learned she wasn't at the Dashiell estate, and her current whereabouts were completely untraceable.

Watching Jerome's usually stoic face soften into a warm smile as he checked his WhatsApp, Conrad immediately deduced the sender had to be Lizetta.

He stood up, unable to hide his desperate excitement. "Jerome, is that Lizetta? Let me speak to her, just for a moment! Just a few words!"

He plastered on a look of profound sincerity, even forcing his eyes to redden, playing the part of a tragic, heartbroken father desperate to reconnect with his lost daughter.

However, Jerome saw right through his pathetic act.

A mocking smirk touched Jerome's lips, and he completely ignored the man.

He opened his drawer, pulled out a Bluetooth earbud, and slipped it in before tapping play on Lizetta's voice note.

Hearing her offer to play matchmaker for him in Zion City left him caught between amusement and exasperation.

Conrad's voice hitched, his chest heaving slightly in fear.

"Conrad, Lizetta didn't just return yesterday. She's been back for over half a year! She has a profoundly kind heart, just like my aunt did. I have zero blood relation to her, yet she treats me like her real brother, always looking out for me. You are her biological father. If you had shown her even a fraction of genuine care over the past six months, your relationship wouldn't be this dead."

Conrad's face drained of color, his eyes watering.

"You're right. I know you're right, and I deeply regret it. I was manipulated by Eartha and her daughter. I was blinded by greed, and I failed Lizetta. I want to make amends, I..."

Jerome nodded slowly. "You truly want to make amends?"

Conrad's eyes lit up with hope. He immediately raised his hand, striking a solemn pose.

"Absolutely! I swear it!"
