He couldn't speak for other men, but right now, he had absolutely zero desire to go back to the office.
He wanted nothing more than to stay glued to Lizetta and their baby every second of the day.
If Jerome found out he had a daughter and started focusing on dating and chasing his family, how was he supposed to run the Madden Group properly?
If Jerome decided to wash his hands of the business, considering how old Grandpa was, the burden would inevitably fall on Lizetta as the Madden heiress.
If she took over the company, she'd have to spend most of her time in Tranquil Meadows. Where would that leave him?
No way. A man had to be a little selfish and look out for his own happiness. It was better to keep Jerome in the dark for now.
Lizetta, completely oblivious to Remington's scheming, gave him a weird look. She thought he was changing his mind entirely too fast.
"No way. I still have to tell him."
Remington was only half-joking anyway; he didn't actually want to keep a father from his child.
He had lost Joy once, and he knew exactly how agonizing that felt.
Even if Jerome didn't know he had a daughter out there right now and felt completely fine, he would find out eventually. And when he did, the thought of all the missed years would fill him with overwhelming regret and sorrow.
The sooner they reunited, the better.
He patted Lizetta's shoulder. "Go make the call."
Lizetta stood up. "Okay, I'll step out to call him."
But Remington stood up as well. "Just make it in here. I'm going to wake Joy up anyway. The little guy has been sleeping like a log. If he doesn't get up now, he'll be up all night fussing."
Lizetta checked the time. Joy really had been asleep for a while, so she didn't try to stop him.
While Remington went over to scoop their son out of bed, Lizetta dialed Jerome's number.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
