His rosy little lips puckered up like a bird's beak, and the sound he made was just like a happy little chirp.
Lizetta couldn't stop smiling as she corrected him.
"Not Unky-ky, just Unky!"
"Unky-ky," little Joy repeated.
On the other end of the line, Jerome sounded incredibly surprised and thrilled. "Joy knows how to say Unky now! That's so cute. Wait for me, buddy. I'm bringing you a huge present when I get to Zion City."
After hanging up, Lizetta took Joy from Remington's arms, placed a kiss on his soft cheek, and turned to her husband.
"Do you think he actually has feelings for Kimberley?"
They always said men understood men best, so she wanted to hear his take.
Remington's lips curled into a smirk. "He's going to be in Zion City within the next two days. Whether he shows up today or tomorrow just depends on how desperate he really is."
Lizetta chuckled softly. "You guys are so boring. You clearly have feelings, but you insist on acting tough and hiding it."
Remington pursed his lips. He was about to say that *he* wasn't like that and she shouldn't lump him in with the rest of them.
But then he remembered how, during their two years of marriage, he had kept his feelings completely locked away. Instantly, he felt more guilty than anyone else.
He nodded. "Yeah, it's pretty pathetic. Don't worry, I've definitely learned my lesson. I'll never do that again."
Lizetta was very pleased with his response. She tapped her chin against the little bundle in her arms and said,
"You better sum up all those hard-learned lessons of yours and make sure you pass them down to your son someday."
She absolutely refused to let her future daughter-in-law suffer like she had.
The next morning.
Jerome thought her expression was a little weird, but it didn't seem like she was mad at him for sneaking them into the city.
Just as he was starting to feel inexplicably nervous, Lizetta looked away and went to help Bernice.
Nelson had been dying to see his great-grandson, but with the chaos back in Tranquil Meadows involving the Porter family, he had been worried that the company might face issues if Jerome was left entirely alone.
So, he had stayed behind as a stabilizing figure, settling for daily video calls with Joy.
Now that he finally saw the boy in person, the old man was overjoyed, practically bursting with the desire to hold him, though he was afraid of scaring the child.
To his surprise, Joy immediately recognized him as the white-haired grandpa from the screen. His big, dark eyes crinkled into crescents as he clapped his hands and called out in a crisp, sweet voice.
"Gampa! Gampa!"
"Yes!" Nelson replied loudly. Even though Joy didn't know how to say 'Great-Grandpa' yet and was just copying his mom, Nelson knew the boy was calling him. His eyes instantly grew red with emotion.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
