What was even more shocking was that the little girl's face looked strikingly similar to Jerome's, almost like a miniature version of him.
"How is this possible?"
Nelson's hand trembled as he pointed at Kimberley, then at Candy, too overwhelmed to speak.
"Grandpa, this is Kimberley. We just got our marriage license. And this is our adorable little daughter, Candy. Candy, say hello to Great-Grandpa."
Candy obediently followed her father's instructions, flashing a sweet smile and greeting Nelson.
"Hello, Great-Grandpa."
Kimberley felt a flutter of anxiety. She never expected that just this morning, she and Candy were living their ordinary lives.
Yet in a mere half-day, Jerome had barged into their world with an undeniable force.
She didn't even understand how she had been so easily persuaded, letting her daughter accept this father.
When she had stepped out of the restroom, her daughter was clamoring to see her parents' marriage certificate, claiming that other kids' parents had one, and without it, there was no proof Jerome was her dad.
Jerome had comforted Candy, promising to take her mom to get the certificate immediately.
And just like that, Kimberley was led out of the hospital by Jerome and straight to City Hall.
In the blink of an eye, Kimberley became a married woman. She hadn't even fully processed the fact that she was married to Jerome when he received a call, learning that Lizetta and Remington were trapped by reporters outside Maple Cottage and there had been an incident.
Jerome stated he had to go check immediately and asked if Kimberley was willing to come along.
Seeing his anxious expression, and knowing how much he cared for Lizetta—whom Kimberley also had a great impression of—she didn't want to delay him and nodded in agreement.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
