Lizetta stared wide-eyed, "What girlfriend!?"
Was Remington really this good at playing along now?
The truth was, he really was.
With an innocent yet earnest expression, he replied, "I'm your soon-to-be boyfriend. To me, you're the only choice. You've been my girlfriend for ages, and you're on track to upgrade automatically to wife, mother of our kids, lifelong partner..."
Lizetta was speechless.
She had only questioned him once, and he had already imagined their entire life together in his head.
Feeling flustered, Lizetta felt her cheeks heat up. She shot Remington a glare and swiftly turned on her heel, heading straight into the bathroom.
Remington watched her retreating figure, a smile curving his lips.
She could comfortably go take a shower with him still there, yet she said he was just a potential boyfriend?
However, in the next moment.
Click.
He heard the distinct sound of the bathroom door being locked, and the smile on his handsome face froze slightly. He clicked his tongue.
When Lizetta emerged from the bathroom, Remington was no longer in the bedroom.
The water stains and footprints on the floor had been cleaned up, and the sheets had been changed, looking particularly neat.
Lizetta glanced at the door; it seemed to still be locked from the inside.
Clearly, Remington hadn't left the apartment. She had no idea how he managed to clean up so quickly.
Drying her hair, she walked over to the bed to grab her phone but noticed a small cake on the side table next to the couch.
Lizetta approached, a bit surprised.
At that moment, her phone buzzed.
Lizetta, sensing who it might be, picked up her phone to see a message from Remington on WhatsApp.
"Sugar-free cake, it's okay to have some. Don't go to bed hungry."
Her eyes reflected the soft glow of the screen, a touch of warmth in them as she replied.
"So you knew you stole my dinner?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
