Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 964

As soon as the door closed, muffled through the wood, came Mia’s barely suppressed squeal.

“Oh my gosh! Did you see that? They were holding each other so tight! Mr. Dashiell is totally smitten!”

Lizetta just stood there, speechless.

Remington, on the other hand, looked perfectly at ease. He even leaned in, chuckling softly in her ear.

Blushing furiously, Lizetta shoved at his chest. “If you don’t let go right now, I’m really going to be mad!”

He finally released her, obedient for once, and gently helped smooth out the collar of her now slightly rumpled silk blouse.

“There. I’ve let go. Please don’t be angry, okay? Don’t be angry about anything.”

Lizetta gave up trying to stay annoyed. “I’m not mad, I’m not mad! Now go sit on the couch—I need to let them in.”

Remington’s lips curled into a faint, knowing smile. He strode over and settled into the sofa, long legs crossed, all cool composure, as if he hadn’t just been caught making a scene in her arms.

What an actor, honestly.

Muttering to herself, Lizetta hurried to open the door for Logan and Mia, who’d been waiting outside.

She’d just called them over to brief Remington on the project updates.

Remington was surprisingly approachable with them, asking about event arrangements and listening attentively. He even offered a few new ideas for streamlining the annual conference.

Just then, Snow walked in, balancing a tray of fresh coffee. She knelt gracefully, swaying her hips a little too deliberately as she placed a cup in front of Remington.

But as she reached up to hand him the coffee, Mia, clearly out of patience, grabbed a cup herself. Their hands collided, and the coffee spilled all over Snow’s front.

“Ah!” Snow shrieked, jumping to her feet, mortified.

Mia frowned, standing up as well. “Sorry, you were taking forever. I didn’t see you there—I wasn’t trying to.”

Red-faced, Snow shot Mia a glare, set the cup down as best she could, and fled the room.

Mia turned, meeting Lizetta’s resigned gaze, and immediately shrank under her look.

Remington didn’t linger much longer. After a few more questions, he stood to leave.

Lizetta escorted him out. The moment the elevator doors closed behind them, the entire office erupted into chaos.
