Amid all the excitement, a different voice suddenly broke in.
“Didn’t Mr. Dashiell say he was just here to check on the progress for the annual gala? You guys are really letting your imaginations run wild.”
It was Snow, a stubborn stain still visible on her blouse.
She couldn’t stop herself from making a snide comment—especially after seeing how gentle and patient Remington had been with Lizetta, while he hadn’t spared Snow so much as a glance. Jealousy twisted inside her.
Lilian chimed in, seizing the opportunity. “Yeah, you’re all reading way too much into this. For all you know, maybe Mr. Dashiell is even warmer and more considerate with Ms. West.”
Lilian was still sore—literally—from when Lizetta had shoved her earlier, her stomach aching from the fall.
She’d already crossed Lizetta and just hoped Remington really did prefer Stella. If not, she’d managed to offend him too. That would be a dead end for her.
Logan and Mia had just walked their guests out and were returning when they overheard the conversation.
Mia gave a low chuckle. “Even if the Starlight Group’s annual gala is a big deal, there’s no way the CEO himself would come down here to iron out the details, right? Isn’t it obvious why Mr. Dashiell’s really here?
My advice to some people: if you’ve made a mistake, own up to it now. Keep digging yourself deeper and no one will be able to help you.”
She shot a pointed look at Lilian and Snow, then turned to leave.
Lilian frowned, biting her lip in thought but said nothing more.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....

This novel is too sad. When will Lizetta experience real happiness. Why is her life so miserable.. Author pls bring changes in the story....
