A joyful smile blossomed on her face.

But to her surprise, it was Mrs. Hayes who walked in.

"Mrs. Hayes, what brings you here?"

Mrs. Hayes instructed Bella to clean up the spilled oatmeal and promptly sent her out.

Once they were alone, Mrs. Hayes closed the hospital room door before taking a seat beside Vivienne's bed.

She offered a gentle smile. "You suffered such a terrible injury saving Dante at the banquet. I was so worried, I simply had to come see you."

"Thank you, Mrs. Hayes."

Hearing Mrs. Hayes mention Dante made Vivienne feel a fresh wave of grievance.

Unable to hold back, she tentatively asked about him.

"Where did Dante go today?"

Mrs. Hayes replied smoothly, "Dante has been overwhelmed with company matters lately. He went into the office early this morning and hasn't had the time to visit. Try not to take it to heart."

"No." Vivienne shook her head. "Even when he was busy before, he would at least call to check on me."

"This time, he hasn't called me once."

As she spoke, a tearful hitch caught in Vivienne's throat.

Though she had her own ulterior motives when the champagne tower fell, her concern and love for Dante were genuine; she truly couldn't bear to see him hurt.

Now, it felt as though all her devotion had been wasted. She was utterly disappointed.

Mrs. Hayes watched Vivienne in silence for a long moment before finally speaking. "Never mind, I won't keep it from you anymore. Dante... he already knows about his divorce from Quinn."

Vivienne jolted in shock. "What did you say?"

Mrs. Hayes let out a heavy sigh. "Dante returned to the estate today and had someone break the lock on the safe. He found the divorce certificate."

Recovering from her initial shock, a spark of delight fluttered in Vivienne's chest.

Dante already knew?

If that was the case, he would surely give up on Quinn for good now, wouldn't he?
