Silas Vance took a half-step forward, quietly asking for further instructions. Dante Hayes gave a curt nod, then walked straight to the driver's side of the Maybach and got in.
Before leaving, he turned his head slightly, his gaze landing on Quinn Yates.
"If you regret this, call me anytime."
His expression was impossibly confident.
As his words fell, the car window rolled up smoothly, completely cutting off the outside world.
Two lawyers stepped forward, presenting duplicate copies of legal documents to Quinn with freezing, professional detachment.
"Ms. Yates, this is the asset freeze notice submitted by Mr. Hayes, along with the pre-filing materials for the invalidation of your divorce. Please sign to acknowledge receipt."
"Our legal team will handle all further communications from here on out."
Quinn let out a cold, soft chuckle. This was Dante's typical ruthless efficiency.
"Thank you. I'll have my lawyer review these, and then we will be in touch."
In the living room of Lunas Crest, Quinn sat with a heavy expression, and Tara Moore didn't look much better.
"Quinn, I just sent this to Mr. Whitlock. He said that since you got the divorce certificate without telling Dante, an appeal would be highly disadvantageous for you. As a party involved, Dante had the right to know."
Quinn rubbed her throbbing temples. "Are you saying the court is actually likely to rule our divorce invalid?"
Tara nodded. "Dante has prepared a mountain of evidence. Plus, he was absolutely furious about this. He fired his mother's executive assistant right out of the gate and pressured the civil bureau to discipline the staff who processed your paperwork."
Quinn found this incredibly tricky. Things were spiraling entirely out of her expectations.
