"Yasmine."

Dante's voice sliced through the air like a blade.

Yasmine jolted, looking up into his pitch-black, predatory gaze, which was now radiating absolute zero.

"The Hayes family will gladly cover your medical bills. But let me make one thing crystal clear: if I ever hear you running your mouth and disrespecting Quinn again, there will be consequences."

Yasmine stared at him in utter disbelief, reeling from the reprimand.

"Dante... what are you talking about?"

"We respect our guests, but we absolutely do not tolerate malicious troublemakers at our events."

"What happens between my wife and me is absolutely none of your business. Keep out of it!"

Yasmine stood there paralyzed with shock. It wasn't until Dante coldly barked at his assistant to "Escort the guest out!" that reality finally crashed down on her.

Dante was genuinely enraged. And he was enraged on Quinn's behalf.

He didn't care about giving Yasmine an ounce of face, all to defend that wretched woman!

Boiling with humiliation but utterly terrified to speak back—and practically tearing her skin off from the itching—she angrily stomped her foot and fled the venue.

Meanwhile, back in the lounge, after easily handling Yasmine's ridiculous provocation, Quinn was sitting somewhat blankly on the sofa.

She watched as Raymond crouched before her, his large, warm hand securely wrapping around her ankle as he easily slid her stiletto off.

It nearly gave her a heart attack.

She immediately tried to jerk her foot back. "Raymond, you don't need to do that! I can do it myself!"

"Don't move."

Raymond effortlessly caught her retreating ankle and gently pulled it back. He didn't use excessive force, but his grip was unshakeable.

Left with no other option, Quinn had to sit there as he slowly removed both her agonizing heels and slipped her feet into the soft flats.

Her heart was hammering wildly against her ribs. Wherever his fingers brushed against her skin, it felt like she was touching a live wire.

She sat up perfectly rigid, her legs going completely stiff. Combined with the deep flush painting her cheeks, she looked like she was burning up with a fever.
