He restored his usual aura of cold, arrogant detachment.
He furrowed his brow, adjusted the watch on his wrist, and when he looked up again, his gaze was icy enough to freeze over hell.
"I need to remind you both of something. My divorce from Quinn is invalid, which means your marriage certificate is equally worthless."
"If I take this to court, I won't just be contesting the validity of our paperwork."
Dante parted his lips, dropping a massive bombshell. "Since you secretly got a marriage license while I was still legally married, I'm going to sue you both for bigamy!"
Quinn found the entire threat utterly absurd. "Dante, how could I possibly be committing bigamy?"
"Whether you are or not, we'll let the judge decide!" Dante stated expressionlessly, reeking of triumphant arrogance.
"Quinn, without a top-tier lawyer backing you, you're guaranteed to lose this case."
"So, I suggest you think very carefully. You can divorce this man immediately, return to my side, and I'll drop the lawsuit; or, I'll sue to invalidate the divorce and drag you both down for bigamy..."
Dante's eyes glinted with malicious intent. "Quinn, bigamy carries a serious prison sentence. For Leo's sake, I'm sure you'll make the right choice."
At first, the color drained from Quinn's face, her heart trembling in panic, but she quickly steadied herself and met his gaze without a trace of fear.
"Fine, go ahead and sue. If the court convicts me of bigamy, I'll take the punishment."
Her voice was terrifyingly calm and resolute. "Even if I have to go to prison, I don't care. I will never get back together with you."
Raymond looked at Quinn in surprise.
Dante stared at her in sheer disbelief, a sharp agony tearing through his chest. Was she truly willing to pay such a devastating price and burn everything to the ground just to cut ties with him?
