Vivienne Ambrose stood nearby, flanked by several glamorous young women who were glaring at Quinn with blatant disdain.
"Quinn, what are you doing here? Did you come here to peddle your clothes because you can't sell them?"
One of the women sneered, then turned to Mrs. Carlisle. "Ma'am, don't let Quinn fool you. When it comes to fashion design, our Vivienne is at the absolute top of the industry."
Another quickly agreed. "Exactly. If you hire her to design something and you hate it, she won't even refund your deposit. You're just asking for a headache."
Mrs. Carlisle frowned, displeased. "Quinn's designs are exceptionally unique and I adore them. I suggest you watch your tone."
Vivienne had seen Mrs. Carlisle at the Ambrose family banquet before and knew exactly who she was. Both her own background and her husband's family were incredibly powerful.
She was definitely not someone to offend.
Vivienne quickly put on a fake act, gently scolding her friends. "Stop talking nonsense, you guys. Quinn's designs are actually quite nice."
She then smiled sweetly at Mrs. Carlisle. "I am so sorry, Mrs. Carlisle. My friends are just very blunt, please don't take offense."
Mrs. Carlisle had never liked Vivienne. She had always found her wildly hypocritical, vain, and incredibly fake.
"Ms. Ambrose, manage your friends better."
She shot a cold glare at the two women who had just provoked them.
"With how aggressively they're attacking Quinn, anyone who didn't know better would think you were so jealous of Quinn that you ordered them to do it."
Mrs. Carlisle pulled no punches, causing Vivienne's face to flush red, then drain of color.
Not wanting to ruin Mrs. Carlisle's good mood, Quinn said softly, "Mrs. Carlisle, you go ahead. We'll keep in touch."
Mrs. Carlisle patted Quinn's shoulder. "If anyone else dares to blind-side you or cause trouble, you let me know."
With that, she turned and left.
