"Dante!"
Leon stepped out of his car and aggressively blocked Dante's path to the corporate entrance.
Dante knew immediately why he was there.
He stood perfectly still, his handsome features carved from ice, not showing a hint of guilt or avoidance.
Seeing his absolute indifference, Leon thought of his sister's battered, mud-soaked body and felt his blood boil.
"I'm asking you a question, Dante. Why did you leave Vivienne alone on Silverpine Mountain? Do you have any idea what state she was in when I found her? She was severely hypothermic, bleeding from a massive gash on her knee, and almost died!"
Dante remained unfazed. Leaving Vivienne on that mountain was merely a tiny taste of punishment. After systematically deceiving him for years, the fact that she was still breathing meant he was being generous.
"She's awake. You can ask her yourself."
Dante's dark eyes were freezing, the words leaving his lips entirely devoid of empathy.
"Dante, my sister has loved you for years. She has waited for you! How can you be so utterly heartless?"
"She's lying unconscious in a hospital bed right now. Are you seriously not even going to check on her?"
"Don't forget, our families are partnered on several major projects. Don't force me to terminate those contracts."
Dante slipped his hands into his slacks, his posture radiating dominant arrogance. "From this day forward, I have absolutely nothing to do with Vivienne."
"As for the corporate partnerships, you can terminate them whenever you please. Just make sure you pay the breach of contract penalties in full."
Leon froze, genuinely shocked by Dante's ruthless finality.
Their families were deeply entwined in business. Severing those ties would be catastrophic for both empires.
Dante was a brilliant, pragmatic businessman. He would never sever ties with the Ambrose family unless someone had truly crossed an unforgivable line.
What the hell happened between him and Vivienne? What could have caused such a drastic overnight shift in his attitude?
