Quinn Yates didn't know when Dante Hayes had arrived or how long he had been listening, but she pulled out her car keys and headed straight for her vehicle.
"You two take your time chatting."
They were both "acquaintances," and since they had shown up at the same time, Quinn had every reason to suspect that Dante still had feelings for Vivienne Ambrose.
If that was the case, she would gladly let them talk. Them reconciling would only make her divorce go smoother.
"I have nothing to say to her."
Dante took a step forward and blocked Quinn's path. His dark, bottomless eyes stared at her, seemingly hiding thousands of unspoken words. "I came looking for you."
"I'm busy. I have to rush back to the studio."
Quinn's voice was ice-cold. She stepped around him, walked straight to her car, opened the door, and started the engine.
She didn't look back once, and she drove off fast, as if she couldn't wait to escape him.
Vivienne, who had been arrogant just moments ago, became completely subdued the second she saw Dante.
She looked at him with a mix of anticipation and anxiety.
"Dante..."
Dante lifted his gaze, looking at her with an expression bordering on absolute disgust.
"Shut up."
He didn't want to see her, nor did he want to hear another word out of her mouth, but he couldn't stop himself from issuing a warning.
"Don't ever look for her again."
In the past, he rarely spoke harshly to her because he believed she was the one who had saved his life. But now, he felt that even looking at her was a complete waste of time.
Plus, he knew she wouldn't say a single nice thing to Quinn, and he didn't want her making Quinn uncomfortable anymore.
Vivienne knew that with her lies freshly exposed, Dante's disgust was inevitable. But she simply refused to believe that after all these years, he harbored no feelings for her whatsoever.
Back then, she had impersonated Quinn to trick him into thinking she was his savior—it had been a massive gamble. But if you didn't try, how would you know if it would work?
Getting caught just meant she had bad luck.
"Dante!"
