Thinking of the times Raymond took off his sunglasses to reveal that impossibly handsome face, Dante let out a resentful sneer.

"He's just using his looks to seduce her, that bastard!"

Parker took a sip of his drink and sighed. "There are many types of women in this world. Some are materialistic, but others genuinely don't care about the money. They're easy to satisfy."

"That bodyguard might not have your billions, but the companionship and sense of security he gives her far outweighs yours."

"A lot of women want far less than we think."

"More than money, they want someone to be there. They want emotional support."

"Ask yourself this: in all the years you were married, did you ever take her grocery shopping?"

Dante, who had been overflowing with righteous indignation a second ago, suddenly froze.

Throughout their entire marriage, he had never once gone to the supermarket with her. He hadn't even taken a simple post-dinner stroll with her.

Parker shot him a look that clearly said, *You brought this on yourself; deal with it*, and didn't bother offering any more comfort.

Dante ended up completely wasted and had to be dragged home by his two best friends.

That night, trapped in a feverish, alcohol-induced haze, Dante had a dream.

He dreamt of their wedding day. Quinn, breathtaking in a pristine white gown, walked through a sea of flowers toward him.

He smiled and reached out for her. Just as their fingers were about to brush, Raymond appeared out of nowhere and violently shoved him aside.

By the time Dante regained his balance, Raymond was already dragging Quinn toward the exit.

Raymond looked back over his shoulder and delivered a chilling verdict:

"Dante, since you didn't cherish her, your punishment is losing her forever!"

Dante tried to sprint after them, but his legs felt like lead.

He tried to scream, but no sound came out.

A suffocating mix of fury and sheer helplessness swallowed him whole.

When he finally jolted awake, the glaring morning sun was pouring through the windows, pulling him out of the nightmare.
