Yet her arms instinctively wound around his neck. He was walking fast, and she clung to him tightly, afraid of falling.

"Be a good girl, you'll get used to it."

The man coaxed her with a wicked smirk. "Besides, I promise to hold back a little more every night from now on."

"You say you promise every single time, but have you ever actually kept it?"

The promises men made in moments like this were nothing but blatant lies.

Raymond gave the soft curve of her waist a light squeeze, his eyes darkening with undeniable heat. "It's your fault for being so impossibly tempting."

He carried her into the bedroom, kicked the door shut, and impatiently pinned her against the wood.

The kiss he laid upon her was searing and intense, dripping with naked possessiveness as it ruthlessly stole the breath from her lungs.

In the darkness, the sharp, unmistakable sound of fabric tearing echoed loudly.

Quinn's knees gave out, leaving her practically unable to stand, her consciousness melting entirely into the intoxicating heat he sparked within her.

Just then, the faint sound of footsteps drifted from the hallway.

It was Lydia, just stepping out of Leo's room.

The little boy had exhausted himself playing basketball that evening. Without needing his usual bedtime story, he had passed out the second his head hit the pillow.

As the footsteps drew closer, Quinn's entire body tensed, her hands desperately gripping Raymond's shirt.

Even if it was just the housekeeper, Quinn was terrified of making a single sound.

Yet the scorching heat of his body pressed firmly against hers sent a frantic rush of chaotic thrill rushing through her veins.

The man, however, clearly had no such reservations, continuing his relentless assault on her senses.

Thankfully, the room's soundproofing was excellent. Even as breathless little moans slipped past her lips, Lydia remained entirely oblivious, her footsteps steadily retreating toward the staff quarters downstairs until they faded away completely.

It wasn't until the hallway fell into total silence that Quinn playfully punched his chest. "Raymond, you're an absolute jerk!"

Raymond locked his pitch-black eyes onto her wide, misty gaze, chuckling in a low, rough voice. "Such a coward."
