The tips of her ears quickly flushed red. Her heart pounded as Quinn bit her lip hard and turned her face away, not daring to meet his eyes.
"Stop it. Let go."
The man lowered his gaze to look at her for a moment before finally releasing his grip.
The car moved steadily forward. Sitting in the backseat, Quinn opened the red marriage certificate once more.
Under the husband's section, his name was clearly printed: Raymond Moretti.
Only now did she realize his last name.
It was a last name that suited him perfectly.
The Moretti name wasn't incredibly common. Vaguely, she recalled that Dante's mother was also a Moretti.
Dante's maternal family was indeed the most deep-rooted, powerful, and wealthy elite family in Riverton.
But the Moretti family tree was vast, with distant branches scattered all over the world. Not every Moretti could bask in the glory of their ties to the Hayes family, and certainly not just any descendant belonged to that supreme main branch standing at the very top of Riverton's elite.
Obviously, Raymond was just an ordinary man who had nothing to do with them.
Looking down at his birth date, she let out an audible gasp of surprise.
"You're thirty-two?"
The man in the driver's seat seemed to instantly radiate a colder aura.
"What, do you think I'm too old?"
What was he talking about?
Quinn quickly clarified, "No, not at all. You just don't look thirty-two in the slightest. I always thought we were around the same age."
Raymond didn't reply. Staring straight ahead, he focused entirely on the steering wheel, and the car smoothly accelerated.
Soon, they arrived back at Lunas Crest.
To outsiders, he was still the highly paid bodyguard she had hired, and she was still his employer.
Quinn paused and looked back at Raymond.
He stood three steps away, the dim, amber lighting casting a soft, warm silhouette over his tall frame.
"Starting tonight, I am moving into a room on the second floor."
Quinn froze, her beautiful eyes widening in sheer surprise.
"Why? Is there something wrong with the bedroom on the first floor?"
Raymond lifted his gaze, his tone serious. "My duty is to ensure the absolute safety of you and Leo. The first floor is too far away. If there's an emergency, I won't be able to reach you fast enough."
Quinn hesitated. Living that close to him felt somewhat inconvenient...
"The second floor... isn't exactly dangerous. The security here is pretty tight."
Raymond took a single step forward, his towering figure casting a shadow over the lights. "No matter how good the security is, it's not as reliable as me guarding the room next door."
