Old Mrs. Moretti cast a knowing glance at Raymond but simply nodded without a word.
"Dinner is served! Leo must be starving, let's eat!"
The three of them enjoyed a wonderfully warm dinner. Once they finished, old Mrs. Moretti let Yvette take Leo off to play.
Only when the child was out of earshot did she turn to Raymond.
"Ray, what's going on with you and Quinn?"
Raymond's voice was heavy. "She couldn't process who I really am right away. She said she needs time to cool off."
"Well, of course she needs to cool off. But traveling all the way to Savannah by herself... is she safe?"
"Don't worry, Grandma. I have a team watching her from the shadows."
Old Mrs. Moretti chuckled. "Your team can keep her physically safe, but Quinn is a stunning woman. She's going to attract plenty of male attention. Aren't you worried someone else will sweep her off her feet?"
Raymond pictured Quinn in her fitted vintage gown, the way every smile tugged at the heartstrings, and his eyes grew dangerously dark.
"Persistence wins the girl. When you're chasing a woman, you have to be thick-skinned and take the initiative. So what if you go look for her? As long as you aren't doing anything to annoy her, you can still push the relationship forward."
Raymond looked at old Mrs. Moretti's affectionate face and nodded. "I understand, Grandma."
Seeing that her words had sunk in, old Mrs. Moretti looked utterly satisfied.
"Alright then. Children need their sleep. Take Leo back to rest, and make sure you visit this old woman more often."
Raymond nodded just as Yvette led Leo back into the main hall. He bid his grandmother goodnight and walked out, holding the little boy's hand.
Watching the tall man and the little boy leave, Yvette couldn't help but murmur, "Leo looks exactly like Mr. Moretti!"
Old Mrs. Moretti sighed in agreement. "Doesn't he? The very first time I saw Leo, I thought they were cut from the exact same cloth!"
