Chapter 224
Jewel’s attitude made him frown.
“What do you mean?” Dominic shot back, caught off guard.

Jewel looked furious. A dangerous light flashed in her eyes as she stared at him with icy contempt. “You’re still pretending?”
She had been about to step outside moments earlier when she saw Dominic and Autumn holding each other. The sight ignited an anger she could not suppress.
Under her sharp, scrutinizing gaze, Dominic’s expression hardened as well. He replied flatly, “It’s exactly what you saw.”
“Well done, Dominic. You’re not even bothering to pretend anymore, are you?” Jewel pointed at him and sneered. “You just got divorced, and you’re already fooling around. I have to say, you really know how to latch onto status. First Isabella from the
Sinclairs, and now Autumn from the Garcias.”
Dominic’s temper flared. What the hell was wrong with her? Was he living off her money, or had he desecrated her family grave?
“Enough, Jewel. If you have something to say, then say it,” Dominic snapped back.
Jewel’s gaze remained cold. “Isn’t what I’m saying obvious enough?”
In her eyes, Dominic was nothing more than a freeloader. He had lived off the Sinclairs before, and now he wanted to latch onto the Garcias as well. Pure wishful thinking.
Jewel looked cold and striking. Her aggression gave her a sharp, dangerous allure.
Dominic had no interest in appreciating it, nor any intention of indulging her. He scoffed. “People like you love judging others through biased eyes. Autumn and I are friends. Even if we did have something more, let me ask you this. What does it have to do with you?”
“I’m her aunt!” Jewel shouted.
“Oh.” Dominic remained calm. “Then if she interfered in your personal relationships, would you listen?”
Jewel fell silent. Autumn had warned her several times to keep her distance from Zachary, but Jewel had never taken it seriously. She believed working with Zachary would benefit JewelMed.
Now that Dominic had said this, it felt like a boomerang snapping back into her face.
Jewel took a deep breath and said coldly, “I’m worried Autumn will be tricked out of both her money and her body by someone with bad intentions.”
Dominic’s pupils contracted. He pointed at Jewel’s nose. “You should worry about yourself first. Forget being tricked out of money and body. You don’t look well. Trouble is coming for you. You might lose both your money and yourself, completely devoured.”
If this was a battle of insults, he was not afraid of anyone. Dominic had many flaws, but being bad with words was not one of
them.
As expected, Jewel flushed with anger. Her brother–in–law was Stephen Garcia. She had founded JewelMed and run it for many years. No one had ever dared to curse her like this.
What was more, deep down, she truly believed Dominic was not a good person.
Jewel clenched her teeth. “Dominic, are you looking for death? Do you still want your commission?”
“Not a single cent of my commission can be missing,” Dominic replied calmly.
“If you want your commission, then with Autumn-”

“You didn’t hear me clearly.” Dominic raised his hand and cut her off, his tone steady. “What I mean is this. Not a single cent of my commission can be missing, with no conditions attached, because I earned it. Do you understand?”
Work was never charity.
“You…” Jewel snapped, “You’re fired. Get the hell out right now!”
Dominic looked at her and suddenly smiled. “Fine. Remember to transfer my salary to my account on time.”
