She took a deep breath, rose to her feet, and said, “Come to my office for a moment.”

“I’m not going.” Dominic shook his head calmly and began packing his things.

His attitude only fueled her anger. “You…”

Still, she kept her goal in mind and forced the anger down. She pressed a hand to her chest, drew another breath, and managed a faint smile. “Dominic, about what happened yesterday. We did have some differences, but I think we need a private space to clear up this misunderstanding.”

Dominic lifted his head and glanced at her, open disdain written across his face. “Differences? A misunderstanding? Miss Wright, I really have to admire your way with words.”

The two of them had essentially fallen out the day before. In a workplace setting, that kind of rupture was usually beyond repair.

Even if she offered extremely generous terms, Dominic would not stay.

Seeing that he would not budge, Jewel clenched her teeth. Ignoring the eyes around them, she grabbed his arm and dragged him

toward her office.

“Just come in first. I’ll tell you,” Jewel said.

Dominic considered it for a moment, then followed her inside. He wanted to see what she was plotting.

Inside the office, Jewel closed the door. “Dominic, let’s pretend yesterday never happened. You’re still an employee of JewelMed, and I’ll make you Sales Department Manager.”

Jewel inhaled and spoke with deliberation. “How did you get to know Ms. Palmer?”

Dominic paused, then immediately understood. “You mean Andriana?”

“Yes, yes,” Jewel said, nodding quickly.

“What about her?”

Unable to hide it, Jewel briefly explained how Andriana had come in earlier that day to discuss cooperation.

As he listened, realization dawned on Dominic.

“So that’s it.” He let out a short laugh. “I was wondering why you felt like a completely different person today. Turns out you only move when real profit is on the line.”

Jewel’s expression changed. “What do you mean?”

“Am I wrong?” Dominic replied coolly. “You even took Autumn’s video and used it to trade benefits with Isabella. You’re someone who puts profit above everything else.”
