Chapter 297
Dominic unrolled the scroll. Bold, forceful calligraphy filled the page, each character sharp and resolute, like iron strokes etched
in silver.
[Masterful Craftsmanship]
The signature read… Henry Hale.
Michael barely reacted at first. The man beside him, however, glanced at the scroll and froze, his face draining of color.
Michael folded his arms and snorted. “What does it say?”
The man below him was already trembling. His voice shook as he stammered, “M–Mr. Hale!”
“What?” Michael paused, then strode over to look for himself. The instant he saw the signature, it felt as if something
detonated inside his chest.
‘Damn it!‘ His legs weakened, and he nearly collapsed.
He was not the only one. Isabella and Jewel stood beside him, equally stunned.
Dominic remained shocked for several seconds before he took a deep breath and asked, “May I ask how I should address you?”
“Just call me Mr. Hale,” the middle–aged man said with a mild smile. “Go on with your business. I will not interfere.”
With that, he cast one calm glance at Michael and turned to leave.
No insults. No scolding. That single look nearly stripped Michael of his courage.
Michael swallowed hard and suddenly shouted, “Everyone, please do not misunderstand! We fully believe that the quality of White Cosmos No. 1 is outstanding. I… I want to purchase it. The bureau will make a large–scale purchase!”
His words spilled out in a rush, completely incoherent.
The onlookers understood immediately.
Henry was the governor, a true regional authority. If he was willing to present this calligraphy piece, the product could not possibly be flawed.
Once the gossip settled, the crowd felt reassured and returned to their business.
Dominic understood perfectly. Henry’s willingness to give the calligraphy stemmed from two reasons. First was the authority of Cosmos Laboratory. Second, and most important, was Jessica.
Thinking of that little menace, Dominic could not help but smile.
He said nothing more and turned back toward the store.
Michael gnashed his teeth and followed him inside.
The interior contained a small office.
Dominic entered and carefully placed the calligraphy piece where it would be kept safe. Only then did he notice Michael trailing behind him.
He frowned. “What are you doing here?”
After confirming that no one was taking photos, Michael gritted his teeth and dropped to his knees with a heavy thud.
“Mr. Fleming! I was wrong, I was wrong! Please spare me just this once!” He bore no resemblance to the righteous official he had pretended to be moments earlier.

Dominic sneered, “Who sent you?”
Michael’s eyes flickered. Henry’s authority outweighed everything else, so he answered, “It was… the Grants.”
‘As expected.‘ Dominic nodded calmly. “You can leave now.”
Michael hesitated, hope creeping into his voice. “Could you maybe speak to Mr. Hale—”
“Do not ask me.” Dominic cut him off without hesitation. He himself could not even get a word in with Henry.
Despair flooded Michael’s face. When he left, his entire body still shook.
Afterward, Isabella stared at Dominic in disbelief. “Honey, when did you get to know Mr. Hale?”
Dominic ignored her.
Understanding dawned on her face.
“It was Jessica?” She ground her teeth. “Fine then. That little girl really will stop at nothing to steal my husband!”
She burned with anger, yet she could do nothing. Jessica’s background was far too powerful.
Dominic remained silent and walked out.
The grand opening continued without interruption.
At that moment, he spotted two figures, and his pupils contracted. It was Autumn and a young man.
An inexplicable heaviness settled in Dominic’s chest, but he still stepped forward. “Autumn.”
