Jewel studied his expression. “You’re not even a little surprised?”
Dominic gave a faint smile. “Lydia endured intense cyberbullying. She was mert surprising that she couldn’t withstand it.”

“Mm.” Jewel’s tone turned sharp. “That woman caused you so much harm. At least she had enough shame to realize she had no right to keep living.”
Dominic clicked his tongue. “She’s dead. Shouldn’t you feel some sympathy?”
“Sympathy?” Jewel let out a cold laugh. “Do you think I’m a saint? She almost got you thrown in jail. And the people behind her still haven’t been held accountable. Honestly, she got off too easily,”
A faint ripple stirred in Dominic’s chest.
Jewel suddenly looked at him and forced a playful smile. “Dominic, maybe now you’ll learn not to mess around with other women. Let’s see if you behave from now on.”
“Dominic.” A gentle voice sounded from the doorway.
It was Katherine,
Dominic’s eyes brightened, “Come in.”
Jewel’s smile vanished at once.
Katherine pushed the door open. She showed no surprise at seeing Jewel.
“Miss Wright,” she said politely,
Jewel nodded, her expression unreadable.
Katherine turned to Dominic with a soft smile. “You weren’t at the company the past few days, so I didn’t go in either. I’ll resume live streaming today.”
“Alright,” Dominic replied.
Katherine hummed lightly. “You two talk. I’ll head out first.”
Dominic stopped her. “Wait. We were just finishing up. Sit down for a moment. I have something to tell

Katherine’s heart skipped, and quiet pleasure rose in her chest.
Jewel’s face tightened. ‘So he has something to discuss with her, and I’m just an extra?
She stood abruptly. “Since Mr. Fleming has something to say, I’ll take my leave.”
Her voice carried a chill she did not bother to hide, tinged with jealousy.
Dominic nodded. “Mm. Go ahead.”
Sadness flickered across Jewel’s eyes. She bit her lip and walked out without another word.
When the door shut, it slammed harder than necessary, echoing through the room.
Dominic rubbed his chin and muttered, “Is she on her period or something?”
Katherine glanced at him thoughtfully. “Jewel has treated you well. During the days you were detained, she visited Isabella several times to discuss how to help you.”
“She did?” Dominic’s surprise was genuine. He had not known that Isabella and Jewel had been in
contact.
Katherine smiled faintly. “I think Jewel has feelings for you. The way you spoke to her just now probably hurt her.”
Dominic’s expression shifted. He stood, slipped an arm around Katherine’s slender waist, and guided her onto the sofa beside him.
He leaned close and whispered in her ear, “You’re here now. Other people’s sadness has nothing to do with me.”
Katherine’s cheeks flushed a deep red.
Outside the door, Jewel’s body trembled. Tears pooled in her eyes, then spilled silently down her face.
