Chapter 467
No matter how composed Benedict tried to remain, his expression darkened. He had pursued Autumn for a long time with little to show for it. The sight before him tightened his chest.
He broke the silence. “We’re playing Three–Card Brag. Everyone starts with 10,000,000 dollars in chips, and we settle at the end. Is that okay, Dominic?”
As he finished speaking, a staff member stepped forward with a tray of chips and set it in front
of Dominic.
Dominic glanced at the stack. “No problem.”
Benedict’s pile already towered before him, likely exceeding 30,000,000. He had clearly been winning all night.
Autumn tapped Dominic’s hand and leaned close to whisper in his ear. “Don’t worry about it. I’ve got money.”
He replied in the same low tone. “It’s fine. I’ve got money too. If we don’t win big today, we’ll win a billion instead.”
Autumn caught the mischievous glint in his eyes and laughed softly. “You’re all talk.”
He chuckled.
Their easy banter, as if no one else existed, drew another frown from Benedict.
Zachary noticed. A thought crossed his mind, and he tapped the table. “Dominic, are you playing or not?”
The tension had reached its limit, and his tone carried no courtesy.
Dominic patted his arm lightly. “Why are you so nervous? Time’s almost up.”
A sudden, inexplicable panic flickered across Zachary’s face. He answered coldly, “What nonsense are you talking about? This hand is Autumn’s deal. Deal the cards.”
He flicked a 10,000–dollar chip onto the table as the ante.
Lucas finished shuffling and began to deal.
The room fell silent. Autumn quieted as well and let Dominic focus.
Six players sat at the table, Dominic included. The remaining two were a woman in her 30s and a man with purple hair.
After the first three cards were dealt, the purple–haired man, seated to Lucas’s left, tossed in a 100,000–dollar chip without hesitation. “I’ll see it in for 100,000.”
Benedict followed, throwing in 200,000 with casual confidence. “I’ll see it in.”

The woman went next. She muttered, “I’ve lost terribly today. I’ll look at my cards.”
She lifted them, frowned, and swore. “Damn it. Not even a face card. I’m folding.”
Dominic was last.
He glanced at his hand. The purple–haired man gave a light chuckle. “Dominic, aren’t you going to see it in?”
Dominic smiled. “I’m not very good at this. I’ll look first.”
He checked his cards. Mixed suits. Jack, Queen, King.
Autumn leaned close and whispered with faint regret, “That’s a strong hand. You looked too early.”
Dominic grinned, set his cards face down, and pushed 400,000 into the pot. “I’ll see it in.”
Zachary and Lucas followed without looking at their cards. Each tossed in 200,000.
In Three–Card Brag, the first round usually consisted of everyone seeing it in. In the second round, everyone except the purple–haired man chose to look at their cards.
