A group of officers rushed over with serious expressions. When they saw so many people lying on the ground, they froze in shock.
A female officer crouched down to check the injured and asked, “Ambulance. Has anyone called an ambulance?”
Dominic said, “I already called 911 earlier.”
The female officer looked at him intently. “What exactly happened here?”
At that moment, another officer approached. “You can question the others.”
“Alright,” the female officer said immediately.
After she stepped aside, Ezra smacked his lips and said, “Dominic, what exactly happened here?”
Dominic briefly explained the situation.
Ezra stared at him in disbelief. “You’re saying the three of you took down twenty people?”
Dominic patted Max’s arm and smiled. “I’ve got a bodyguard.”
Max stood beside him like a wall. At well over 6’5“, and now fully recovered after weeks of proper food and care, his massive frame made him look like a human barrier.
Ezra glanced at him and immediately understood. “I’ll take your statement right here.”
Dominic nodded. “Alright.”
Connections mattered everywhere. Without Ezra’s relationship with him, Dominic would most likely have spent the night at the police bureau.
More than half an hour later, Ezra closed his notebook. “That’s it for now. If anything else comes up, I’ll call you.”
By then, the injured men had already been sent away in batches, either to the hospital or the police station. After all, a handgun had been involved. This was no longer just a simple street fight.
But Dominic knew very well that sending these people to the police station would not cause the Grants any real trouble. Important figures such as Neil and Vinny would almost certainly be bailed out soon.
As for illegal possession of a firearm, they could easily arrange for a few of the remaining men to take the blame. The matter would end there.
“Alright. I’ll head back first.” Dominic nodded and left with Brian and Max.
When they reached the hallway entrance, he said, “You did very well today, Brian. I’ll assign a group of people for you to manage soon. You’ll be the manager of the security department. Can you handle it?”
Brian jumped in surprise. “Mr. Fleming… can I really do it?”
Dominic smiled faintly and patted his shoulder. “You have to believe in yourself.”
Brian nodded firmly. “Mr. Fleming, I won’t disappoint you.”
A trace of gloom flashed in Max’s eyes. He knew he was not very smart, and he felt that his performance today had been terrible. ‘Mr. Fleming must be angry. He praised Brian but didn’t praise me.‘
Dominic turned to him. Instead of praise, he simply said, “Max, thank you.”

Max stared at him in stunned silence.
Dominic continued, “As long as I have food to cat, you won’t go hungry.”
Max’s eyes lit up instantly, and his entire mood changed.
“Alright, that’s enough for today. Brian, take Max to get some late–night food. Then go home and rest.” Dominic waved his hand and headed upstairs.
He had already instructed the finance department that, in addition to his salary, Brian would receive 3,000 dollars every month to cover meals, hotels, rest stops, parking, and other related expenses.
Brian turned and left with Max. After a moment, he suddenly thought of something and said seriously, “Max, you need to learn a few things.”
