She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 177

Night had fully descended upon the courtyard. Miles leaned back in a woven rattan chair, dressed in casual loungewear that perfectly highlighted his tall, lean physique.

Stripped of his usual sharp, intimidating aura, he looked almost approachable under the soft glow of the outdoor lights.

He rested his hand casually on the rim of his teacup, his innate, effortless elegance seeming to soak in the cool moonlight.

Knowing he was merely using a shared championship title to gag the public, Quinn's gaze was ice-cold. She had absolutely nothing to say to him.

Yet, the man sitting before her genuinely assumed she and Yara's family must be thrilled.

His tone carried the distinct, condescending grace of a benefactor. "Quinn, your friend Yara should have received the call by now, right?"

"Yes."

Quinn gave a single, dismissive hum and fell silent again.

Her reaction irritated Miles. He had expected her to have something to say, or at least ask if he had uncovered the truth behind the microphone malfunction.

But the woman standing in front of him was completely detached, showing zero interest in asking him anything.

His handsome brows furrowed. "The award ceremony for Caleb is in three days. He'll receive the prize money then."

Miles felt that since he had personally intervened to grant Caleb the title, Quinn should be practically jumping for joy, showering him with thanks and gratitude.

But the expected "thank you" never came. Her face remained devoid of emotion, and the air between them thickened into a suffocating, dead silence.

Quinn had no desire to waste her time here. She replied with agonizing indifference, "I'm going inside."

Miles's eyes darkened to pitch black as he watched her half-illuminated figure standing in the shadows.

Lowering his gaze, his voice dropped into a dangerous register. "Quinn, what kind of attitude is this?"

Shouldn't she be thrilled? Why was she acting like a lifeless statue, completely ignoring him?

Had he somehow offended her again?

Quinn stared back. "What kind of attitude do you want from me?"

Miles closed the distance between them in a few long strides. His towering frame cast a shadow over her, the crisp, cold scent of his cologne wrapping around her in the dark.

He spoke coldly. "I ensured your friend's child got the championship, and you don't even have the basic decency to say thank you?"
