She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 559

Inside the largest VIP suite at The Skyview Lounge.

The luxurious lighting was dim and cool. Miles sat on the sofa, his suit jacket casually tossed aside, his tie pulled loose.

He hadn't touched his drink. He just sat there, his dark eyes shadowed, like a lamp that hadn't been fully turned up.

His sharp brows were knitted together, his handsome features locked tight by some heavy, unspoken burden, offering no hint of relaxation.

Julian and the others arrived, casually taking in the scene.

A single glance told Julian that Miles was not himself. His furrowed brow practically screamed that something was eating at him.

Hunter stood off to the side, clutching a document portfolio as always. "Julian is here."

Miles waved a hand dismissively. "Hunter, have them open the drinks."

The manager eagerly stepped forward, personally uncorking the bottles for the York heir and filling two glasses.

The amber liquid glowed under the lights. Julian's gaze remained fixed on Miles, his confusion deepening.

Miles never went out of his way to visit places like this. In the past, whenever the guys dragged him out, he would resist endlessly. They had to practically beg him just to make an appearance, and he'd usually leave before half an hour was up.

He was like a cold, untouchable statue devoid of worldly desires.

But today, completely out of character, he had initiated the invite, picking this loud, flashy VIP room of all places.

Julian smirked. "Miles, what's with the sudden invite? Is something on your mind?"

Miles picked up his glass and clinked it lightly against Julian's.

"It's nothing."

"Congratulations on taking the championship again this month!"

Without waiting for a response, Miles took a sip.

Julian glanced at Hunter, hoping for some sort of clue.

But Hunter didn't dare breathe a word. He was terrified of angering his boss and getting exiled to the coal mines.

Setting his glass down, Miles brought up a seemingly random topic. "I remember... you used to have a golden retriever.

"When it went missing, you offered a massive reward but never found it. You must have been devastated, right?"
