Quinn didn't want him touching her and shook his hand off in disgust.
"Miles, I have absolutely nothing to say to you. Your sister filed a baseless police report and slandered us without a single shred of proof. I fully intend to reserve the right to hold her legally responsible!"
Hearing this, Miles's gaze slid toward his sister. "Macy, didn't I tell you to wait until I got back from the hospital before making any decisions?"
Macy showed absolutely zero remorse, her tone still completely self-righteous.
"Miles, Leo is my nephew. It broke my heart to see him suffer, and since I couldn't help him medically, all I could do was call the cops to arrest the people who hurt him. Is that really a crime?"
A sharp ridge formed between Miles's brows. "The maid only said she saw a powder-like substance fall from Yara. How did you magically conclude it was poison?"
Macy still didn't think she was wrong, but noticing her brother's furious tone, her arrogant momentum dropped a notch.
"I was just... telling them what I knew. Even if there's no concrete evidence right now, Quinn and her friend are obviously the prime suspects."
Yara stared at her like she was an absolute idiot. "Miss York, can you please try not to be so blatantly ignorant? That powder was just my makeup setting powder, yet you called it poison? I've already handed it over to the officers, and they'll test it themselves. Did we really need you fabricating wild conspiracy theories here?"
Macy glared at her resentfully. "Hmph, we'll see what you have to say when the results come back. Let's see how stubborn you are then."
Quinn's tone was icy and distant. "Miles, your son went to the hospital. The doctor must know by now whether he was actually poisoned or not."
A faint ripple flickered through the dark abyss of Miles's eyes before returning to a cold stillness.
"The doctor didn't say... it was poison. Leo got coconut milk powder on himself, and when he played on the slide, it attracted bugs and ants that bit him. That's what caused the allergic rash."
