She Walked Away With His Twins, While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 66

"Quinn, drop the act. Stop trying to find new ways to grab my attention. There is zero possibility between us. Just behave yourself, and in three months..."

"Bang!"

Quinn shoved the car door open, fully prepared to jump out.

Terrified, Tristan slammed on the brakes. Thankfully, the car had already slowed down significantly, so it wasn't a violent stop.

The moment the vehicle stilled, Quinn unhesitatingly threw the door wide open, stepped out, and started walking in the opposite direction.

"Boss..."

Miles stared at her retreating figure with pitch-black eyes, his jaw clenched so tightly it ached. "Drive. If she wants to get out, let her walk all the way back."

Was this woman out of her mind? She actually tried to jump out of a moving car?

...

Quinn didn't return to Regency Bay. Instead, she hailed a cab straight to Fairview Apartments. It wasn't until she had both of her children wrapped in her arms that her emotions finally stabilized.

Luna and Caleb sensed their mother's distress, their sweet little voices laced with worry.

"Mommy, were you crying?"

Quinn didn't want to expose her emotional breakdown to her kids. She blinked away the moisture in her eyes and gave them a bright, radiant smile.

"No, Mommy wasn't crying. I just ran a little too fast, so I was out of breath."

Caleb knew his mother must have suffered some kind of grievance. He knew how hard it was for her to raise him and his sister.

He desperately wished he could grow up faster so he could share her burdens.

He had recently seen an advertisement for the 'National Junior Prodigy Challenge.' There was prize money for winning, and he wanted to enter.

The rules stated that kids as young as three could participate. His only fear was that his mom wouldn't allow it, so he planned to ask Aunt Yara to take him secretly.

The nanny took the two children downstairs to play, leaving Yara and Quinn to talk out on the balcony.

"Quinn, since the contract isn't up and that scumbag Miles won't sign the divorce papers, you can't exactly sue him."
