She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 358

"What an idiot. No wonder she has to cheat on exams."

The Ace Class students showed Cyrilla no mercy. In just a few sentences, they made her sound like someone trying far too hard to seem refined, someone who only knew how to show off and understood nothing of substance.

Cyrilla's face turned green. Her gaze suddenly locked onto Loyce, who was standing near the Ace Class group and happened to be looking right at her.

Instantly, Cyrilla clenched her fists. Now that the entire Ace Class was friendly with Loyce, she was sure Loyce had turned them all against her.

"I understand now. Thank you for the explanation," Cyrilla managed, forcing herself to sit back down despite the humiliation.

Only then did Lucian clap slowly, giving the Ace Class student an appreciative nod. "That was a perfect explanation, every word of it. Well said. If you don't find a tent to sleep in tomorrow, I'll make sure you get one."

Everyone had assumed Lucian was on Cyrilla's side. His unexpected gesture earned him a few points with the Ace Class.

"That 'every word of it' was a nice touch. It's like he was agreeing with the part that called Cyrilla an idiot," a student muttered under their breath.

The comment reached Cyrilla's ears, and her face darkened.

...

After all the instructions were given, the students headed to the Yavon Manor log cabin restaurant for dinner. Afterward, they would have to begin setting up their tents for the night.

As a supervising instructor, Loyce ate with the other teachers in a dining area shared with the military personnel, separate from the students.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was relatively relaxed. The teachers sat together, chatting about the camp's schedule and the students' reactions. The conversation gradually shifted from work to personal matters.

Ms. Ford, a cheerful and outspoken teacher, took a sip of her hot soup and looked around the table with a teasing smile. "Well, look at us. It seems like we're the only 'old folks' at this table with families. What about our younger teachers? Ms. Jefferson, I heard you just got engaged?"

Ms. Jefferson blushed and nodded.

Ms. Ford's gaze naturally fell on Loyce, who was eating quietly. The girl looked so young, but her sharp intellect at the assembly had won over all of them.

With friendly curiosity, Ms. Ford asked, "Loyce, you're so young, beautiful, and brilliant. Are you seeing anyone?"
