Loyce's voice wasn't loud, but it was like a drop of water hitting boiling oil, instantly causing the dead-silent venue to explode into chaos!
The gazes of Mabel and the others shot toward Saphira like poison-tipped arrows.
A server?!
While these people were causing a scene at the front, Cyrilla hadn't dared to step forward. She had already realized that this entire setup was a trap orchestrated by Forrest Lonsdale.
Just as she hunched over, trying to sneak out through the back doors, Robert suddenly appeared with his men, blocking her path with a cheerful smile. "Cyrilla, don't leave so soon. We still have some unfinished business."
The moment she saw Robert, Cyrilla's face drained of color. She blurted out instinctively, "Is Lucian involved in this too?"
"I'm just following orders." Robert smiled pleasantly, stepping aside as his men dragged another woman forward.
The second Cyrilla saw the woman, her terror peaked.
Like a bouncer tossing out a drunk, Robert forcibly dragged the struggling Cyrilla and the heavily jeweled, fake "Saphira" all the way to the front of the venue.
The venue's spotlights deliberately snapped onto the two pathetic, disheveled figures.
During her fierce struggle to resist, Cyrilla had lost all color in her face. She was trembling like a leaf, her perfectly styled hair now a tangled mess, screaming, "No! No! Let me go!"
The fake "Saphira" looked even worse, her expensive designer suit rumpled and completely stripped of any elegant facade.
The moment she was dumped in front of Loyce, the fake "Saphira" scrambled to explain frantically, "I'm not Saphira! I'm just an actress! Cyrilla paid me to pretend to be her mother! She told me her real mom was some working-class rural woman and she was too embarrassed to bring her to a high-society event!"
Terrified that Loyce wouldn't believe her, the fake 'Saphira' frantically dug into her pocket and pulled out her studio ID card. "I'm telling the truth! I work at the Metropia Film Base! Here's my ID! I'm really not Saphira! Please don't send me to jail! I swear I'll never do it again!"
She pointed a shaking finger at the real Saphira standing nearby. "She's Cyrilla's real mother! She's a maid at the Shapiro estate! This mother and daughter teamed up to scam everyone!"
The revelation hit Mabel and the others so hard they swayed on their feet.
"You... you really are just a maid's daughter?! You have absolutely no relationship with Lucian?!" Mabel's voice was so shrill it seemed to tear through the air. She lunged forward with explosive rage, her sharp nails slashing aggressively at Cyrilla's face. "Ahhh! You cheap little bitch! You ruined us! My store! My money! My reputation!"
He waited until the mother and daughter had absorbed enough of the scammed parents' violent fury before finally gesturing for the bodyguards to step in. The highly trained men quickly and efficiently ripped the hysterical parents away.
Venue security rushed in to forcibly restrain Mabel and the others, who were still thrashing like wild animals.
"Silence!" The host's authoritative voice boomed through the microphone, carrying an oppressive weight. "Anyone disrupting the order of this bidding event will face severe consequences! Unauthorized personnel must leave the premises immediately!"
Cyrilla sat slumped on the floor, one eye swollen shut, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. Driven by a reckless, cornered madness, she screamed at Loyce, "Are you happy now?!"
Throughout the entire ordeal, Loyce had merely acted as a spectator. Sitting in the center seat, she watched the group of clowns tear each other apart with completely indifferent eyes. Hearing the accusation, she simply replied, "Didn't you bring this entirely on yourself?"
Robert walked over to Loyce, completely dropping the cold demeanor he had used on Cyrilla, replacing it with deep respect and admiration. "Ms. Lonsdale, my boss asked me to convey a message. He and this mother-daughter pair have nothing more than a charitable, donor-recipient relationship. There are no other ties. He is deeply sorry that these unnecessary misunderstandings and individuals caused you any distress. Once he uncovered the full truth, he sent me here immediately to explain the situation to you, hoping to earn your forgiveness."
"Also." Robert turned to Mabel and the others. "Your daughter almost died in the jaws of that bear. It was Ms. Lonsdale who risked her life to save her. If it weren't for Ms. Lonsdale, your daughter would already be in the morgue."
"As for why she lied." Robert glared at Mabel, mocking her. "Now you can take your failed business prospects home and ask your ungrateful, backstabbing daughter."
