She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 807

"Has it ever occurred to you that I let you kidnap me on purpose?" Loyce leaned back against the steel pillar. The smile on her lips sent a wave of pure terror crashing through Channing.

He was far less stable than Luna because, from the very beginning, he had been operating on fear.

The knife nicked Loyce's neck. It wasn't a deep cut, but enough for a bead of blood to well up.

"What the hell are you talking about? There is no way you could have predicted this!" Luna sneered. She was convinced this was just a desperate bluff from someone about to die. "Only my people knew about this operation. The intel couldn't have leaked."

Loyce patiently stalled. She calculated she only needed three minutes at most.

"The borders are heavily fortified, aren't they?" she asked smoothly. "Did you really think your men slipped in undetected?"

Channing’s eyes widened in horror. "Lucian let them in on purpose? He wants to kill me?!"

His first thought was that Lucian intended to expose their treason. But Loyce looked at him with sheer contempt.

"You think you matter to us?"

Luna shoved Channing aside. "Stop listening to her garbage!" she snarled. "You're just stalling, waiting for a rescue team, aren't you? Let me tell you something, Loyce. I don't scare easily!"

She swung the spiked club, aiming straight for Loyce’s face. "I'm going to smash your face into a pulp! Then I'll send the video to Lucian! Hahaha!"

"Why do you think you ran into X's operatives at that Japanese restaurant?" Loyce didn't blink as the terrifying club swung toward her, only to be grabbed mid-air by Channing.

Luna thrashed wildly. "What are you doing?! Let go of me!"

She had completely lost her mind, but Channing still had a functioning brain. He stared intensely at Loyce. "How did you know we ran into X’s people? Are they working with this country? Did Lucian tell you?"

Loyce replied, "Because I orchestrated it."

Channing was stunned. "What do you mean?"

Loyce turned her gaze to Luna, who was now pinned behind him. "If I didn't apply the pressure, if Ares Global didn't think they were about to lose their precious little princess, why would they send a team?"

Luna finally began to cool down. Since this involved her family, she gritted her teeth and demanded, "What is your relationship with X?"

Loyce offered a faint smile. "I am X."

The words hit them like a physical blow. They both froze.

Loyce leaned comfortably against the cold steel pillar. A droplet of blood slid down her pale neck, staining her collar crimson. She glanced down at the blood and a mocking, playful glint flashed in her eyes.

"Looks like my people made it." Her voice was calm, exuding an overwhelming aura of absolute confidence.

As soon as the words left her mouth, several figures emerged from the shadows of the tunnel.

They wore black tactical gear, vastly different from Gyrfalcon's team. They wore no masks or helmets, proudly displaying the scars on their faces and necks, along with the distinct 'X' insignia that loudly announced their identity.

Luna had seen these exact men at the Japanese restaurant. She knew these were X's operatives. Nobody on earth dared to impersonate X's syndicate! Any imposter would be seen as tarnishing Mr. X's reputation and would face endless, brutal retaliation.

Not a single one of Luna’s men appeared.

Channing stumbled backward, a cold sweat breaking out across his back.

Because stepping out from behind the operatives, leaning on a cane, was Lucian. His steps were slow but steady; without looking closely, one wouldn't even notice his injury. The harsh emergency lighting cast deep, uncompromising shadows across his chiseled face.

His eyes bypassed the terrified Luna and the trembling Channing completely, locking instantly onto Loyce chained to the pillar—and the glaring streak of red on her neck.
