She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 822

Forrest's finger trembled slightly, but he kept it firmly pressed against the button.

Three, two, one...

"Fire!" Loyce commanded.

In that exact second, Forrest slammed his hand down.

Deep within a hidden silo on the island, a sleek, pitch-black missile—the Lethe-I, custom-built by Loyce herself—spewed blue flames from its thrusters. With a low, deafening roar, it broke free, pierced through the island's defense shield, and rocketed into the sky!

Forrest stared at the launch footage in absolute awe. He had never seen a design like that before.

His sister was a weapons expert, too?

The missile climbed at a near-vertical trajectory, breaking through the atmosphere into orbit before re-adjusting. Slipping into a stealth glide path, it shot toward its distant target, completely undetected.

On the screen, the targeting interface locked onto Ares Global's core headquarters. The sixty-second timer mercilessly ticked away.

As the one-minute access window snapped shut, the missile's tracking signature was successfully wiped clean.

Alarms blared across the Ocean Federation's security grid, but the intrusion path had vanished into thin air, as if they had never been there at all.

Quintin and the hackers rapidly scrubbed their digital footprints, pulled out of the battlefield, and slumped into their chairs. They were pale and exhausted, but their faces practically glowed with the euphoria of pulling off the impossible.

Loyce and Lucian exchanged a look and let out a long breath simultaneously.

The pressure of defending had been just as brutal as the attack.

Now came the agonizing wait.

No one spoke. Every eye was glued to a separate monitor displaying the estimated impact zone. Even Gordon Lonsdale, despite his age, had stayed up all night, sitting quietly in the corner to witness the final outcome.

Twenty minutes later.

On the digital map, the glowing dot representing Ares Global's headquarters was suddenly overtaken by a massive red blast symbol.

Almost immediately, Hugo's calm voice crackled over the comms. "The Lethe-I missile has confirmed a direct hit on the target coordinates. Cross-referenced with multiple intelligence sources. The main structure and deep underground facilities have been entirely decimated. Thermal radiation and seismic shockwaves match expectations."
