She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 833

Loyce leaned over the sink for a long moment, splashing cold water on her face. She stared at her pale reflection in the mirror, catching her breath. A sudden realization hit her. Her hand moved instinctively to her stomach, her eyes widening as the pieces fell into place—the delayed cycle, the sudden exhaustion, the nausea.

The bathroom door pushed open, and her entire family stood huddled in the doorway, watching her with breathless anxiety.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Gordon and Marcella pushed to the front of the group. "Are you sick? Did you eat something bad?"

Loyce pressed her lips together. She rested her hand gently on her stomach and dropped the bombshell. "I'm pregnant."

The room erupted in shock.

Gordon's jaw dropped, and everyone reacted with varying degrees of joyous disbelief.

"Pregnant!" Marcella reached out, her hands trembling as she gently touched Loyce's stomach. But her excitement quickly faded into deep concern. "Why did it have to be now, of all times?"

With Lucian missing and his fate uncertain, the timing couldn't have been more complicated.

Forrest's expression hardened. "We have to find Lucian immediately. Our sister needs him, and a Lonsdale child will not grow up without a father."

Loyce also felt the overwhelming weight of the timing. Being pregnant meant she could no longer take reckless risks. She needed to be protected, which meant she couldn't dedicate every waking second to hunting down her husband.

She let out a soft sigh, rubbing her stomach. "Let's hope you're a well-behaved baby."

Because of the pregnancy, the Lonsdale mansion underwent a massive, paranoid safety overhaul. Expensive marble floors were entirely covered in thick, plush carpets to prevent slipping. Hard-edged tables were meticulously sanded into smooth curves. Priceless antique vases were locked away in display cabinets. The staff cleared out anything and everything that could pose a millimeter of danger to an expectant mother.

Overnight, Loyce became the family's most precious treasure. No matter where she went in the house, someone was shadowing her. They refused to let her out of their sight.

While she found the overprotectiveness mildly exasperating, it warmed her heart. As the days ticked by, she deliberately shifted her focus. The medical trials in Mexistar were still ongoing, and Loyce dedicated her time to remotely calculating experimental data, pushing the research forward rapidly.
