She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 117

After Fairchild Holdings' stock hit consecutive daily limits, their product lines completely sold out.

It perfectly coincided with Caleb's upcoming wedding.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Arthur formally retired, passing the reins to his son.

At noon, Lyra went out for lunch. Just as she arrived at The Sapphire Room, she spotted Rowan alongside Jasmine, Tabitha, and Jasmine's cousin. Tabitha was leaning in, saying something to Rowan, and he offered a polite nod with a smile.

The group was ushered into a private dining suite.

Lyra, on the other hand, was dining alone.

But even alone, she refused to shortchange herself.

Remembering how she had wasted away to skin and bones in her past life, completely unable to stomach any nutrients, Lyra rebelliously ordered a massive spread of food for herself.

However, just as she was about to take her first bite, her phone buzzed with an urgent call.

"Miss Fairchild, a major client just added a massive order. Caleb isn't in the office, and Mr. Montgomery is here too. We need someone to host him."

Work came first. Without taking a single bite, Lyra stood up and left the restaurant.

Jasmine had noticed Lyra dining alone earlier. When she went to the restroom and passed through the main dining area, she saw that Lyra was gone, and the servers were already clearing away her untouched food.

She paused, puzzled.

Elara had accompanied her cousin. Before they even stepped into the restroom, they overheard two waitresses gossiping.

"Miss Fairchild ordered a whole feast, paid the bill, and left without eating a single bite."

"Then why did she even come here?"

"Maybe she saw something that killed her appetite? Classic rich heiress behavior. Still, we're a five-star establishment."

The moment Jasmine and Elara walked in, the two waitresses fell silent, keeping their heads down as they quickly slipped out.

Once they were alone, Elara scoffed. "Jasmine, I bet Lyra saw you with Rowan and got so furious she lost her appetite."

Jasmine smiled. That was exactly what she was thinking.

Lyra was nowhere near as indifferent to Rowan as she pretended to be.

Her cool detachment was nothing but a carefully crafted facade.

She only maintained that arrogant front because she couldn't bear the humiliation of rejection.

She was probably cursing Jasmine's name in her head right now!

When they arrived at the entrance, father and daughter stepped out of the car.

At that exact moment, Rowan, Jasmine, and their group were walking out.

Jasmine instantly spotted Lyra swinging her father's arm, laughing brightly. Whatever Arthur had said, it brought a radiant, eye-catching smile to Lyra's face.

Arthur's absolute adoration for his daughter was painfully obvious.

Jasmine frowned and subtly glanced at Rowan.

Thankfully, Rowan barely spared them a passing glance before looking away, appearing completely disinterested in Lyra.

Jasmine secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Rowan's cold indifference toward Lyra put her mind entirely at ease.

Tabitha had met Arthur a few times. Back when the Ford family first moved to Seaborne City, they frequently visited the Fairchild estate to network.

So when Rowan took the initiative to greet Arthur, Tabitha put on a polite smile and offered a greeting as well.

Arthur nodded in acknowledgment.

The two groups quickly parted ways.
