She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 224

This made Lyra look like an absolute coward.

But a professional journalist knew how to hide it. The flash of disdain in her eyes vanished instantly. Facing the camera, she beamed brightly and said, "It's so inspiring to see a life lived without boundaries... Thank you again to today's champion, Jasmine!"

Jasmine had successfully scored another massive wave of public adoration on camera.

[So this is Rowan's gorgeous leading lady!]

[Oh my god, she is absolutely stunning!]

[No wonder she's Rowan's girlfriend, she is literally flawless...]

[Rowan, you haven't even seen a third of her potential! She's holding so many amazing surprises back.]

...

After the race, the Ford and Townsend families headed to The Sapphire Room for a celebratory dinner, a high-end restaurant Rowan had bought specifically for her. Grandma Townsend inspected the elegant decor, unable to find a single flaw.

"Grandma," Jasmine said, linking her arm through Grandma Townsend's. "Come sit at the head of the table."

Grandma Townsend affectionately patted Jasmine's hand, and the family chatted happily as they ate.

"I've spent years in California, and word travels fast. The news about you and Rowan has even made waves in my academic circles. The two of you truly are a remarkable pair."

Tabitha sighed, "It's a pity, though. Even with Rowan's backing, our company's assets aren't even half of Fairchild Holdings. It's all up to Jasmine now to see if she can get Rowan to lend us a bigger hand."

The words had barely left her mouth when Grandma Townsend swiftly cut her off, turning her strict gaze to Jasmine. "If that man truly cares for you, he'll find his own ways to keep you happy. And in making you happy, he will naturally ensure your parents and your uncle's family are well taken care of. But you absolutely must never ask for handouts."

Thomas Townsend completely agreed with his mother. "Tabitha, we should listen to Mom. She's got infinitely more life experience than we do."

Grandma Townsend shifted the topic. "Elara mentioned that Rowan's brother is dating Lyra?"

"He didn't really seem to have any reaction," Jasmine answered.

Grandma Townsend let out a long sigh of relief and nodded in satisfaction. "Her behavior is utterly shameless, and Rowan sees right through it. Just focus on your relationship with him and ignore her. Men like Rowan only feel disgust when they see pathetic social climbers like that."

"However... if Lyra really ends up with Caspian, the two of you are going to be sisters-in-law."

"With how opportunistic and ruthless Lyra is, I doubt she'll ever let you live in peace."

Jasmine replied coolly, "It's fine. I'm not afraid of her. If we end up as sisters-in-law, so be it. Rowan is going to be the one calling the shots in that family anyway."

"Caspian is just an adopted son. He has zero authority. Once Rowan and I get married, we'll likely move out, and we won't have any reason to visit them anyway."

Seeing Jasmine radiating such supreme confidence, Grandma Townsend smiled. Her only regret was that her future grandson-in-law wasn't here tonight, denying her the chance to meet the legendary titan of the financial pages in person.
