She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 262

Jonathan Ford was still behind bars, but before Rowan left on his business trip, he had secretly pulled some strings. He cleared the way with most of Ford Enterprises' partners and secured a considerable amount of leniency for them.

The Ford family could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Their days were no longer quite as grueling.

But when Jasmine returned home, her heart was still burning with resentment and unfairness.

Why did Lyra get to sit comfortably at the top, while Rowan took her out to dinner today?

When the Ford family fell apart, Jasmine had cried to Rowan, telling him she had no home left. Deep down, she had harbored a secret hope. She thought that if Rowan saw how deeply disappointed she was in her parents, he would offer her a safe haven. With all the real estate he owned, just one property would have been enough to keep her by his side.

She imagined he would eventually move in with her. She would learn to cook, waiting for him to come home from work. Slowly, they would build a stable, enviable life together.

Instead, he had simply sent her back to the Ford estate.

The more Jasmine thought about it, the colder she felt. She locked herself in her room, refusing to come out.

When Tabitha pushed the door open, her gaze immediately landed on the empty beer bottles at the corner of the desk. She frowned. "You've been drinking?"

Jasmine's face burned with embarrassment. The bottles weren't even hers to begin with, but at this point, she could only give a vague nod.

Today, she had been entirely prepared to use the post-dinner atmosphere to get closer to Rowan and take their relationship to the next level.

Who knew that not only would Lyra be there, but Josie would show up too, completely ruining her plans.

Just as Jasmine's frustration peaked, her phone suddenly buzzed.

Seeing the caller ID, her heart dropped.

It was Victoria.

"Mom, could you give me a minute? I need to take this."
