She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 442

Caleb raised an eyebrow. "Does he know you broke up?"

"Yes. I've told him multiple times."

Just then, Kayla called out to Caleb that the baby needed to be fed. Caleb took his son back and walked away.

Still, something felt off to him. It wasn't until the next day that he finally realized what it was—the land in front of the Jameson Group was worth tens of billions of dollars.

...

The next day.

Blackwood Manor.

Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Rowan stood before the mirror, selecting a tie. Even as he heard approaching footsteps, he calmly picked out a dark gray striped silk.

A faint, soft fragrance enveloped him as a pair of delicate arms slipped beneath his and gently wrapped around his waist.

Rowan kept his back to her, his fingers expertly knotting the tie without missing a beat. His movements were rigid and precise. "Didn't you say that was our last meal together?"

"What is this now?"

Lyra spoke in a soft murmur. "Are you mad at me?"

Rowan's tone was entirely devoid of warmth. "I have plans today. I don't have time for your games."

Lyra figured she wasn't just playing games with him.

She cursed Quentin up and down in her head, while also blaming herself for not taking Rowan seriously when he had brought it up before.

Softening her voice, she coaxed him with sweet words. "I thought about it all night after I got back. I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, all I saw was your face. The thought of losing you makes me want to die..."

Before she could finish, she looked up at him, pleading softly. "Just spend this afternoon with me, please?"

Rowan turned around. His gaze swept over her eyes and slowly trailed downward. Beneath her woolen coat, she wore a delicate slip dress that accentuated her slender shoulders. Her luminous neck was bare, and the fabric clung softly to her body, tracing the gentle curve of her waist and her stunning figure. Her skin seemed to glow with a radiant sheen.

His expression didn't shift as he coldly dropped two words. "I'm busy."

Lyra grabbed his large hand and gave it a gentle shake. "I'll do whatever you want today."

Rowan arched a brow. "Oh, really?"

Lyra nodded obediently.

Rowan maintained his icy facade. "You get half an hour. I have to leave soon."
