She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 469

Lyra Fairchild returned home and changed into a turtleneck.

She tidied her bedroom, threw that painful memento into the trash can, reorganized her drawers, and tossed out a few more things she no longer wanted.

Carrying the trash bag downstairs, she heard the garbage truck pulling up. The trucks in this upscale neighborhood arrived like clockwork, and Lyra easily tossed the bag into the back.

Jasmine Ford had been driven out of Seaborne City.

It was a completely fresh start for her.

There was no use keeping that tooth anyway.

Lyra clapped her hands clean just as Mr. Lawrence pulled into the driveway.

Caleb had bought a brand-new minivan.

Five adults piled out of the car: Delilah, Martha, Mr. Lawrence, and two nannies, each carrying one of the twins. It was a tight squeeze for such a packed group.

Lyra took the baby girl from one of the nannies.

"I missed you so much," Lyra cooed, inhaling the baby's sweet scent. "You smell so incredibly good!"

The baby boy reached out, babbling as he demanded her attention too. With her hands full, Lyra leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.

Delilah smiled. "You're always running around. We don't see you for weeks at a time."

The large group made their way inside, and Martha immediately started preparing lunch. With so many people in the house now, Delilah mentioned they needed to hire a kitchen helper.

Noticing Kayla's absence, Lyra asked, "Where's Kayla?"

"Kayla wanted to go back to work at the school," Delilah explained. "We have the two nannies, and Martha and I are here during the day anyway. With everyone home in the evening, we have more than enough hands to manage."

"That makes sense," Lyra said, smiling down at the baby in her arms. "We should respect her decision."

Delilah then pivoted the conversation. "When are you going to bring that boyfriend of yours around for me to meet?"

"Don't bring him up," Lyra said, her mood instantly souring. "It's nothing serious."

"But he seems to really care about you. He's always keeping you all to himself. Even your own mother can't get a hold of you."
