She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 482

...This was a good sign.

"It is time you settled down. I wouldn't mind being a grandfather in a year or two," Charles noted.

Rowan took a sip of his coffee. As long as that overly patriotic young woman didn't do anything reckless, everything would be fine.

But if something actually happened to her...

Then the promise he just made to his father would be entirely void.

A maid appeared in the doorway to announce that lunch was ready.

The two men headed downstairs.

Since it was Saturday, Caspian was home from campus. Seeing Rowan's tall figure descending the stairs, he looked up and said, "Rowan."

"Hey," Rowan replied, his face completely devoid of expression.

The doctor Victoria had summoned finally arrived. She insisted on overseeing the bandage change, forcing Rowan onto the sofa despite his protests. Victoria stood behind him, her hands resting firmly on his shoulders.

But as soon as the doctor unwrapped the gauze, Victoria gasped. A jagged, angry gash sliced deeply across the back of his hand, the flesh visibly split apart.

Horrified, Victoria scolded him. "How on earth did you do this to yourself?"

Caspian stood quietly to the side, a flicker of surprise in his eyes when he saw the wound. It was obviously inflicted by a weapon. But Rowan wasn't the type to just stand there and let someone stab him.

It had to be a woman...

It seemed Jasmine and Rowan had reached the darkest, most dramatic phase of their romance. She had actually managed to hurt him this badly.

Only Jasmine could pull that off.

Impressive.

A dark, fleeting shadow passed over Caspian's face.

The family doctor applied fresh ointment, re-bandaged the wound, and left a list of strict instructions. Charles had someone show the doctor out, then turned back, frowning. "How could you be so careless?"

"It's fine," Rowan replied smoothly, his expression completely undisturbed. "Let's eat. I'm starving."

The family gathered around the dining table. Victoria fussed over him, moving certain foods away that she deemed bad for healing, and pushing the safe dishes directly in front of her eldest son.
