She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 576

The two towering men stood there, looking utterly helpless. One stepped away to make a frantic phone call, while the other awkwardly hovered, trying to figure out how to help her up. But Lyra just kept her arms wrapped tightly around her knees, making it impossible for him to grab her without using force.

Her shoulders trembled as quiet, muffled sobs racked her body. After what felt like an eternity, she finally raised her hands, wiping the wetness from her face. Forcing her erratic breathing under control, she pushed herself up to stand. "You're Rowan's men, aren't you? Turn around and go back wherever you came from. If I see you near my house again, I'm calling the cops."

The bodyguards were floored. They had only been on his payroll for three days and had prided themselves on their absolute discretion. How had she burned their cover instantly? Driven by sheer curiosity, one of them asked, "How did you know?"

Before Lyra could even form a response, a sleek Bugatti rolled to a smooth, silent stop alongside the curb.

The driver's side door clicked open, and Rowan stepped out, tall and ruthlessly commanding. He waved off the bodyguards with a flick of his wrist. His somber gaze locked onto Lyra's tear-stained face, his voice steeped in a dark, unfathomable emotion. "You really do remember our past life."

"You managed to spot these two the second you saw them."

"You recognized Andrea Nash immediately too, didn't you? You know every single one of my subordinates... probably better than I do. Makes me wonder if you've had your eye on my people this whole time. Have you already poached half my staff for Fairchild Holdings?"

The tear tracks dried tight against her pale skin. Lyra stood frozen, paralyzed by the sheer audacity of his words.

Rowan clearly thought he had struck a nerve. He let out a harsh, mocking scoff. "I was right, wasn't I?"

"Let me guess, you're targeting exactly what Fairchild is lacking—"

"Ugh!" Lyra practically screamed, completely fed up with his relentless arrogance.

He was driving her insane. She was so incredibly sick of him.

She tugged aggressively at her own hair. "Get out of here! Just get the hell away from me!"

"I have had enough of you. If our positions were reversed and I pulled half the obsessive stunts you do, my family's company would have been bankrupt ten times over!"
