She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 719

Lyra Fairchild stared at Finn Ford, her expression complicated. She was glad she had let him out, but she knew the real reason he was here was going to put her in an impossible position.

Finn pulled the brim of his baseball cap lower, glancing up at her. "Let's find somewhere quiet to talk."

Lyra didn't want to move, but the constant stream of tourists was blocking the walkway. Reluctantly, she stepped aside and led him to a secluded corner.

Finn didn't waste any time. "I don't know how things got so toxic between you and my sister, but everything she did back then was just to protect our family."

A deep sense of helplessness filled his eyes. "Jasmine is in prison now. The environment is brutal, and it's completely destroying her. Her mental state is deteriorating. She's learned her lesson, Lyra. I'm begging you to convince him to let her go."

Lyra immediately turned to leave. "I'm glad you're okay, Finn. But I can't get involved in anything else."

Finn grabbed her arm in a surge of desperation, but the moment Lyra glared at him, he snatched his hand back as if he'd been burned. "Then why did you even let me out? Do you really think I can just live happily out here knowing what's happening to her?"

"I only let you out because you're the only Ford who wouldn't try to destroy me," Lyra said coldly. "If you want to go back in there with her, be my guest."

As far as she was concerned, the Ford family was a ticking time bomb. She absolutely refused to get tangled up with them again.

"They've suffered enough, it doesn't have to be like this—" Finn tried to argue, but out of the corner of his eye, he spotted two men in black suits approaching fast. Rowan Jameson was walking right behind them.

Panic flared in Finn's chest. He yanked his cap down to shadow his face, turned on his heel, and bolted, quickly disappearing into the thick crowd of tourists.

Seeing Blake and Will approaching, Lyra smoothly stepped forward to intercept them, deliberately blocking their line of sight to cover Finn's escape.

By the time they reached their seats, Andrea Nash was already sitting with Pip on her lap. Seeing them return, she immediately stood up.

Rowan let go of Lyra's hand and took Pip from Andrea. "Go grab yourself something to eat," he told her.

Andrea nodded and slipped away, knowing they needed the privacy.

Pip's eyes lit up the moment he realized both his parents were beside him, his little face breaking into a radiant smile. As they settled into their seats, the dolphin show kicked off on the stage just ahead of them. Pip was absolutely mesmerized, his tiny hands clapping excitedly. The stadium echoed with the cheers and laughter of the crowd, which only seemed to amplify the heavy, quiet tension lingering between Lyra and Rowan.

After the show wrapped up, they stepped out of the arena. Along the main path, kids were running around with bubble guns, sending a glittering stream of bubbles floating into the sky. Pip's eyes went wide. He reached out eagerly, his little hands swiping at the air, but he was just a bit too short to catch them. Smiling, Rowan lifted his arm, hoisting his son higher into the air so the boy could gleefully pop the floating iridescent spheres.
