Rowan lightly brushed his fingertips over the paperwork, raising his eyes to meet hers. His voice was unsettlingly calm. "Jameson Tech... I'm transferring the majority of my shares into your name."
Lyra froze, staring at him in absolute disbelief.
Rowan's expression didn't waver. "I built Jameson Tech from the ground up. I want to put it in your hands to atone for what I did to Fairchild Holdings in our past life."
He tapped the section detailing the equity breakdown. "I'm retaining a minor percentage of management shares. All dividends belong to you, but I will continue handling the daily operations and project decisions. But the vast majority of the wealth and equity will belong entirely to you, Lyra."
The shares he kept for himself were strictly to maintain administrative control to keep the company running smoothly, completely separate from the actual financial ownership.
"What are you talking about?!"
Lyra understood exactly what this meant. Her eyes went wide, her voice tight with panic. "Are you out of your mind?"
Rowan nudged a pen across the desk toward her. "Sign it, Lyra. I can't undo what's already been done. The only thing I can do now is try to make it up to you."
Lyra's lips parted in shock. "Why would you... go this far?"
Rowan looked at her, his gaze impossibly deep. "I know you don't care about the money. Every time I try to give you something, you tell me you already have everything you need. This is the only real leverage I have left. Lyra, I only have one request. Come back to me."
"I don't want it. Jameson Tech is yours. I'm not taking it." A chaotic storm of emotions swirled in Lyra's chest. She had never once wanted his company.
"I am yours. What does a tech company matter?"
What did it matter? The entire industry knew that Jameson Tech's current valuation eclipsed even the traditional Jameson Group. It held a massive portfolio of proprietary patents, overseas R&D sectors, and immense supply chain assets. It was the absolute pinnacle of Rowan's empire.
Stripping away even a single core division of it would be enough to rival most major publicly traded corporations.
It was his life's work.
After all, she was exceptionally good at walking away from him.
Rowan looked up at her, raw, agonizing pain swirling in his dark eyes. "Lyra, please forgive me."
Lyra swallowed hard. "I forgive you."
"Maybe I'm just too greedy. I don't just want you to forgive me for Pip's sake. I want you to love me the way you did back when we were students. There's a difference..."
Lyra stood completely stunned.
Rowan remained slumped on the low seat. He wrapped his arms around Lyra's waist, burying his face into her stomach.
She could feel the heat of his ragged breaths seeping through her thin clothes. The ruthless, untouchable CEO who dominated the corporate world had entirely shattered, completely abandoning all his armor at her feet.

okay...
rowan...
What Rowan did in his past life was horrific, and I’m not excusing it, but he truly did everything he could in his second life to repent and atone for what he did to Lyra. At some point, there has to be room for forgiveness and grace. If someone spends their entire life trying to make amends and become a better person, then what does redemption mean if we never allow them a chance to be forgiven? Even someone who has done terrible things deserves the possibility of redemption, and honestly, I want Rowan to be happy too!...
