Side Chick Era Over (Sharon and Carter) novel Chapter 1013

Chapter 1013

This was no longer mere foolishness-this was arrogant hubris.

Rick caught Richard as he lunged forward, fury boiling over. “Dad, please calm down-”

“Calm down?” Richard’s face flushed red, his chest heaving. “How can I calm down when he treated Sharon like that? I’ll tear him limb from limb!”

Sharon’s expression didn’t flicker. She replied coolly, “There’s no need to tear him apart. According to our agreement, simply terminate all cooperation with the Walton family immediately.”

Thomas’s tone was icy. “Richard, are you furious because you once preferred to believe an outsider rather than your own daughter-because your pride was wounded? After all, isn’t it true that just now Rick said Sharon had slandered Jamie and meant to flee?”

Rick, Silas, and Scott’s faces went ashen-worse than if they’d swallowed something foul. And they had no answer to give. Today, their reputations had been completely shattered.

It was all Jamie’s fault.

Rick turned to Sharon. “Sharon, we were wrong. We misunderstood you. I apologize. How would you like us to handle Jamie? We’ll do as you say.”

Sharon raised an eyebrow. “I won’t make things harder for you. Let’s just follow the agreement I made with Jamie.”

Sharon’s face betrayed no surprise. “So you intend to use a partnership you can’t unilaterally terminate as a pretext to seize my original shares? If I lose, I hand over the shares. If you lose… well, you’ll need to call a shareholders’ meeting. Your words alone won’t do, huh?”

Silas nearly choked on Sharon’s biting sarcasm. “Sharon, get this straight-the bet was with Jamie, not us! Why are you dragging us into this? Are you only brave with family, and cowardly in front of men like Jamie-falling to your knees for him?”

Two voices snapped at him in unison. “Silas, shut up!” It was Richard and Rick.

This whole affair was already disgrace enough; Silas’s self-righteous bluster was unbearable. The situation had escalated beyond petty arguing.

Richard added, “Sharon, ignore Silas’s nonsense. Rest assured, we will cancel cooperation with the Walton family. But you must understand: a family and a company like ours can’t just dissolve a partnership on a whim. It takes time.”
