Chapter 9
Lorelei’s mom left the room satisfied and shut the door behind her.
Her idiot son lunged at me, trying to rip my clothes off.
The moment he got close, I kicked him straight in the crotch.
The idiot collapsed to the floor, wailing in pain.
Lorelei’s mom heard the noise and rushed back in, looking panicked.
“My son! What happened?!”
I took the chance and bolted.
Lorelei’s mom clearly wasn’t experienced at tying people up.
I’d already loosened the ropes while she was busy talking.
She realized what happened and chased after me, grabbing a cleaver off the table.
“You little bitch! How dare you hurt my precious son!”
That’s when the door got kicked open.
“Police!”
The cleaver in Lorelei’s mom’s hand clattered to the floor.
I finally breathed easy.
It was my bodyguard who called the cops.
I knew from the start that Lorelei’s mom wouldn’t let this go, and also noticed someone following me.
But just reporting that wouldn’t have done much.
So I played along, figured I’d find a chance to end this whole thing for good.
Otherwise, there was no telling how long I’d be harassed.
I just didn’t expect Lorelei’s mom to be this insane.
At this point, I was convinced Lorelei inherited her craziness from her.
Still–fine by me.
This was more than enough to send both of them to prison.
After my third visit to the police station, even the officers recognized me.
They looked at me with pure sympathy.

Chapter 9
I felt a little helpless too.
In the end, Lorelei and her family ended up behind bars.
I threw myself into work completely.
In just one year. I took the company public.
Then Eason got out of prison.
He knew where my apartments were and showed up outside my door.
I was already irritated when I saw him.
“We’re done. Can’t you get that through your head?”
Eason looked disheveled and pathetic.
He dropped straight to his knees.
“Babe, I’m sorry. I never thought things would turn out like this.”
“At first, I really loved you. I wanted to treat you right.”
“It was all because of my buddies. They kept saying men need dignity, that I had none in front of you.”
“They said it so much, I believed them. And then…”
I finished the sentence for him.
“And then you got cocky.”
A grown man, he actually started crying.
“They were just jealous of me! Jealous that I could marry someone as outstanding as you!”
After he got out, he had nowhere to live. No money.
He tried asking those “brothers” for help.
Not one of them lifted a finger.
Instead, they mocked him and called him stupid.
“Babe, can you please give me one more chance?”
“From now on, I’ll do whatever you say. I’ll never listen to those guys again.”
“I’ll know my place.”
I felt nothing, maybe even a little disgusted.
“If you really know you messed up, stay away from me.”
“I don’t even want to see you.”

Chapter 9
Lason looked completely lost.
I didn’t hold back. “If you show up again, you’re going back to prison.”
“I sent you there once. I can do it again.”
With that, I shut the door in his face.
Eason left. I never heard from him again.
Until a few years later, when Lorelei got out of prison.
Suddenly, Eason reappeared, claiming he’d made a comeback and become a big boss.
He invited all his old “buddies” to a welcome–back party for Lorelei.
That party sent every single one of them straight to hell.
Eason poisoned them all.
When they arrested him, he’d completely lost it and kept muttering.
“It’s all your fault! All of you!”
“If it wasn’t for you, I’d be rich by now!”
“You all deserved to die!”
When I heard about it, I just smiled.
I did feel a little sorry for Lorelei, though.
After meeting Lorelei’s mom, I realized Lorelei’s twisted psychology probably came from growing up in that kind of family.
Because she was born a woman, she’d been ignored and devalued.
Over time, she rejected her own identity as a woman.
She tried to see herself as a man to find validation.
Too bad she was wrong. It didn’t work.
Her upbringing was pitiful. But it wasn’t an excuse for what she did.
Ending up like this? She brought it on herself.
As for everything else? None of my business.
I decided I wasn’t getting married.
But I’d still date younger guys now and then to spice up my life.
What can I say?
Once you hit a certain level of wealth, no matter how old you are, there’s no shortage of guys younger and hotter than Eason throwing themselves at you.
