Since You Chose Your 'Bro' I Married Your Brother novel Chapter 47

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

The silence between them was brutal.

Meanwhile, I stood there playing the clueless housewife like I was born for the role.

Small-town girl doesn’t know any better, right?

Carter found the manual and unlocked the cuffs.

Neither of them said a word.

My phone buzzed, shattering the quiet.

I glanced at it. “Client needs a manicure. I should go.”

When you’re rich and bored, you invent hobbies. I opened a nail salon.

Barely broke even, but I had regulars.

Damien clearly wanted words with Carter, so he tossed me his keys. “Take the car.”

On my way to the garage, I caught raised voices upstairs.

“You’re unbelievable!”

“You wanted to join a monastery-don’t put this on me!”

No clue who won. Didn’t really care.

The ocean air was perfect.

I set up in the beach cabana, laid out my polish collection, and got to work.

His hand rested in mine-long fingers, neat nails. I brushed on clear coat, spotted some lint, and blew it away.

He tensed. “You’re impossible to get an appointment with.”

I moved to the next finger. “I own the place. Once a month is generous.”

Pressed a tiny pink heart decal onto his middle fingernail.

“What do you think?”

When I looked up, he was watching me. Really watching me.

Then his hand covered my eyes.

His mouth found mine. “I’m a guy. I never actually wanted a manicure.”

Yeah. I knew.

Number one. The very first. Athletic build, cut but not bulky.

Three minutes later, I shoved him back and slapped him.

Shit, that stung.

“My name’s Ethan.”

“I know!”

He caught my reddened hand, brought it to his lips. “You always hated pain.”

Buddy. We’re not doing this.

No second chances.

I pulled away.

He followed me outside. “Damien’s never been into women. Swore them off completely. Being married to him must’ve been awful. But you were happy with me, I know you were.”

I stopped.

The sunset hit him just right. Annoyingly gorgeous,

Look, I’m not cruel. Can’t just wreck a beautiful man.

Took a few more steps. Different angle.

Much less attractive now.

Slapped him again.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re a client. I’m married. Back off.”

Nice try. I’m the victim in this story.

He wants honesty? Hard pass.

He reached for me again. I dodged, spun in my eight-hundred-dollar heels, grabbed my designer bag, and climbed into the Ferrari.

Damien was already in the driver’s seat.

His fingers tapped the wheel-bad sign. “How long have you been seeing him?”

Fresh bruise on his jaw. Clearly just finished round two with Carter. Made his sharp features look almost violent.
