Skipped At The Altar, Taken By His Uncle novel Chapter 153

Chapter 153

Oliver asked Fit out for drinks, just the two of them.

From now on, we’re the only two left single among us friends,” Oliver said.

Ever since Joanne dumped him, Oliver hadn’t added her back on WhatsApp.

Eric always elegant and proud, just gave a nonchalant soirk and said, “Honestly, my family’s already set me up to get engaged

Oliver’s hand froze around his glass. “You too?”

Eric clinked his glass against Oliver’s. “Yeah, so you’re the only one left single now”

Ever since Klein got married, it was like everyone else suddenly leveled up, dne after another. They were all getting ready to

settle down.

Oliver couldn’t help feeling a little lost.

‘Out of all of us, I was the one in a relationship the longest, but now I’m the only one left single? Oliver thought to himself

Joanne finally landed a role in a low-budget online drama, playing a supporting female character adapted from a very popular manga.

The series was a big hit, but the budget was tight. Most of the attention was on the male leads, while the female supporting roles were basically just there as background decoration.

Still, Joanne thought her character was pretty great. It was nothing like the cookie-cutter roles she’d played before, and she genuinely liked it.

It was a night shoot. After wrapping up an action scene, the director told her she was done for the night.

As soon as Joanne got back to the hotel, she got a call from an unknown Ravorport number.

Anytime a Ravorport number showed up, odds were it was Oliver.

“What’s it?” Joanne’s voice was cold and blunt.

Oliver hadn’t even said anything yet, but the cold shoulder hit him right away.

“Joanne, can we get back together?” Oliver said softly.

“I miss you. Why don’t we get married?” he added, hope in his voice.

Joanne let out a cold laugh. “Marry you? Do you really think someone like me is good enough for you, Oliver?”

“Just listen to your family and go marry one of those Ravorport heiresses. I’m busy filming. I’m hanging up,” she said, he

voice cold.

Oliver was left feeling choked up after she hung up on him.

He called his assistant, and got a reply almost instantly. His assistant had booked the next flight available, and Oliver was packing his bags, ready to head out.

Lena held her phone and suddenly felt dazed

So… it’s really settled? Am I officially off the market now? I ena wondered, her thoughts all over the place

She unblocked Dustin, and not even two seconds later, he sent her a single dot

[Lena. What?]

Dustin was just checking every few minutes to see if she’d finally taken him off her lacklist. When his message finally went through, he couldn’t help but grin like an idiot.

[Dustin: So, you’re finally unblocking your husband?]

[Lena …Can you not be so corny? We’re not even married yet. Stop calling yourself my husband.]

[Dustin: Getting shy, huh? Fine, I’ll save the cheesy stuff for after we get married. I already told my parents, and we’ve got the Royal Crest Club booked for tomorrow. Want me to come pick you up?]

Lena still wasn’t used to the idea that her longtime rival was now suddenly her fiancé.

[Lena: No need. I’ll go with Grandpa.]

[Dustin: Cool, see you tomorrow.]

Lena put her phone away and didn’t reply.

Carter was so mad after seeing Whitney and Klein getting all lovey-dovey yesterday.

He hadn’t slept a wink all night. By lunchtime, even his parents couldn’t help but notice the dark circles under his eyes.

“Carter, don’t just bury yourself in work all the time. Why not go visit Emily when you get a chance?” Sabrina said.

‘Emily’s been overseas for almost a month now… Carter really should visit his wife, Sabrina thought to herself.

Carter nodded and said, “Okay, Mom.”

But as Carter glanced at the other two at the dining table. One was just there removing fish bones while the other was busy. digging into her fish. Neither of them was giving a damn about what his mom had just said to him.

It was like he was just a nobody, barely visible.

Carter’s expression turned gloomy. “Yeah, Mom, I’ll go the day after tomorrow.” he said.

Sabrina’s face lit up with joy.

‘If Carter could just settle down and live a good life with Emily, that would be great, Sabrina thought to herself.

‘He doesn’t have to keep comparing himself to Klein in everything, she mused.

It’s not like he can ever really win anyway, she added, a little resigned.

Klein took his une wiping his hands.

“Dad Carter, Sabrina, enjoy your meal. We’re heading out now,” Klein said.

James let out a huff, clearly annoyed. That brat doesit even bother to show Carter any respecs, he thought

“Alright, go on. If you’ve got things to do, just head back. Don’t worry about me, james said waving them off

Klem said with a smile, “Dad, yesterday we just came to welcome Yvonne back, not because we wanted to see you. Don’t get the wrong idea.”

James was left speechless.

Whitney said with an awkward smile. “Dad, goodbye. We’ll come see you soon

Klein wrapped his arm around Whitney’s waist and headed straight out, not bothering to look back.

Carter was practically glaring holes into Klein’s hand, wishing it would just melt.

George caught Carter losing his cool and cleared his throat, which finally brought Carter back to his senses.

“Grandpa, I’m full too. I’ve got things to do, so I’m heading to the office,” Carter said, getting up.

James huffed at Carter’s rushed exit. “George, can’t you control Carter at all?”

“It’s fine. Let him go spend more time with Emily overseas. Wasn’t he the one making a fuss about getting married? Now he’s cooling off?” George replied, sounding a bit helpless.

Sure, he was the one who had agreed to send Emily abroad. But if Carter could just have a kid with Emily, maybe he’d finally settle down and stop chasing after all those crazy ideas.

James was getting old, and all he wanted was a happy, united family.

Klein pulled Whitney close as they got into the car. The moment Marco started the engine, Carter’s car rolled up right next to theirs at the entrance.

Carter rolled down his car window, locking eyes with them through the glass, his stare sharp and unyielding.

Klein’s eyes flashed coldly as he told Marco, “Drive.”
