James’s face was grim as he called Yvonne back to Harris Manor

“Dad, what happened?” Yvonne asked as soon as she walked in.

“Yvonne, you’re Lena’s mother Dustin came over today to ask for Lena’s hand. Come and see for yourself James

By all accounts, Dustin was the total package, with an impeccable family background, a top-notch education, good looks, and impressive abilities.

“You knew I had feelings for Xander, and you still went and married his father. Seriously, what kind of mom does that?” Yvonne was completely unapologetic. “Lena, Xander just isn’t right for you. He’s not the guy you think he is, and you two simply don’t belong together.”

“Not right for me? You knew exactly how much I liked him! You knew all along. Mom. Why couldn’t you just marry someone else? Since you love getting married so much, finding a new husband should be very easy for you, right?” Lena snapped back.

“Lena, like I told you, you two just aren’t a match. Would I ever lie to you? If you really liked him, or if he still cared about you, then how come you two never got together after I split with his dad?” Yvonne said.

“You know what? I’m marrying Dustin! I don’t care if you approve or not, I’m doing it!”

“We slept together last night. So what? Isn’t marrying him just how things go?”

With that, Lena flung open the door, wiped her tears, and headed downstairs.
